In September of 1998, a year and a half later, the Nikolaus Fischer Gallery presented “NEW DAKOTA”, Dirk Marwig’s 3rd show at the gallery, where the artist tried to show the spectator and himself, how a simple deviation, rotation or an addition in the physical perception of an everyday consumer product or that of a simple shape can change the meaning and purpose of it drastically, even elevating it to the status of the divine. The whole show revolved around “enlightenment through direct intuitive insight”. The gallery space was converted into a Zen garden or into a humorous Zen poem taking you by surprise and making you see the world in different way for a fraction of a moment.
