An
Account of the Contributions sent
in 1658
and 1659, for
"by
the holy Anglican Church,
the relief of the dispersed
Bohemian and Mora-
vian Churches.
" In the year 1658 thence to Poland.
5,900 were transmitted to Hamburgh and from This sum was divided into five parts, of which four
were given to our Brethren in Poland, whose great loss had very recently heen experienced the fifth was given to the Bohemians in Poland. The Brethren in Poland rendered accounts shewing how prudently they had :
distributed the portions assigned to them.
I myself, together with
my
incumbent upon me to render an account of the fifth apportioned to our people in Poland ; we, therefore, as in the sight For although we are of God, render this account with a pure conscience.
Bohemian Brethren,
felt it
unable to produce the personal signatures of each individual
who has
enjoyed the blessing of these beneficent gifts, especially as many of the recipients were unable to sign their own names, we will most sincerely, not only as in the sight of man, but also as in presence of the righteous tribunal of the all-seeing God, set forth a statement shewing the greatest faithfulness in the distribution, altogether apart from personal
advantage
or eye-service, and under the guidance of our conscience and the pressing necessities of the several cases.
