ATHURST: Thanks to a $1,600 grant from Landcare Australia, students at St Philomena’s Catholic Primary School are working to bring back a very important aspect to their school grounds, with native bees, birds and insects having a new place to call home. I would like to pass on a big thank you to the staff at Riverside who have worked closely with staff and students to deliver the garden. It was very exciting to receive our big delivery of plants and the interest and activity certainly kept staff and students busy through the COVID-19 lockdowns. Open to primary schools and early learning centres across Australia,the grants aim to inspire kids with hands-on projects focusing on sustainable food production, improving waste management practices and enhancing native habitats.
