Year’s Eve party this year! Owner/ Chef Terry Marince pulls out all the stops on this famous night, usually doing a set menu with items that cost twice what he charges for them. Evelyn Russell has been booked to perform and there are two seatings at 6 & 9PM. The bar at Sunset Grill is always rocking and the new patio is also available for seating! Owner Matt Reber already has the interior redecorated in a festive New Year’s Eve style and in reality the party for New Year’s Eve started last Friday night at this hotspot. See the front cover and if you want a table at this landmark restaurant - make the call today! Everyone I’ve told about Dontees Restaurant has called me to say - Wow! This American classic diner is now serving dinner at lunch prices! It’s like stepping into 1965! Dontee’s is the top diner in our area by a landslide. The food is incredible, the prices unreal, the service sharp and friendly and Dontees has been owned by the same local person for 20 years! A meal at Dontees will remind you of a bygone era, when a dollar went a long way. See the back cover and try this family restaurant - it is phenomenal! I got a call from a couple who both insisted on telling me how great this restaurant is. We spoke for 45 minutes. I agreed with everything they said. Nonna Maria Restaurant is one of the top places in our state for cuisine. This is food quality that you would expect in the best restaurants of France. Which makes sense because the Chef/owner Francois is French! His wife Judy told me due to popular demand this year they will be open on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and of course New Year’s Eve will be a special night at Nonna Maria. These nights will sell out so check page 12 and make your reservations today! If you want a party atmosphere on New Year’s Eve, trust the spot that has perfected the party-dining experience - Ouzo Blue! Both locations will be off the wall with all the razzle-dazzle that NY’s Eve demands. Belly Dancers, live DJ’s, napkins snowing from the sky, party favors and party people having fun is the norm at Ouzo Blue - they know how to party! At press time I was told that it will be open seating until 9PM, after that the table is yours until midnight and after for the party of all parties. You can make reservations at the Lake Avenue or PGA location today - see page 9 for info! Next door to Ouzo Blue you can celebrate the New Year with a great special evening of dining at Sushi Jo. It's Sushi Jo’s birthday (Jan. 2) and he's inviting you to join him New Year's Eve to start the New Year with a great menu and specially priced evening just for you. See page 10 for more info and another great event - Rice Christmas at Sushi Jo's annual Rice Christmas Party on Dec 19th! The massive patio that Sushi Jo & Ouzo Blue share will be going wild New Year‘s Eve numbering in the thousands - reserve your table today for the biggest party on PGA! Everyone is talking about A.R.T., the new jewelry and art gallery at 249 Worth Avenue that was the hit of the Worth Avenue's Holiday

NIGHT LIFE

Yo u

One of the hottest locations in our area for the over-40 set has come back to life! The former Bianca’s location on US-1 in Juno Beach has been re-opened by millionaire businessman Jason Jarocki. It’s called the Copacabana of Palm Beach and last weekend the place was packed. The huge dance floor, live entertainment by top bands, stiff drinks, 5-star gourmet cuisine and well dressed wealthy pleasure seekers brought back memories of Bianca’s heyday. The new owner Jason Jarocki is the nationally known wonderkid-businessman who retired at age 32 after making millions in restaurants, limousine companies & nightclubs starting at age 17. Mr. Jarocki was well-known in the NY area for 1st-class dining and clublife at his numerous nightspots. Bored with retirement he jumped at the chance to bring this storied location back to its prime. I will have much more on this story next month - for now check out page 7 and rejoice - a new spot to have dinner, drinks, dancing and mingling has opened for the 2010 season! If you’re making plans for New Year’s Eve you know the crowd is as important as the place. One spot that is assured to host the finest people in the nation is located on Palm Beach Island. They are planning a Studio 54 Themed party with an open bar until midnight and a spectacular dinner. You may know I’m talking about the exquisite 251 Lounge on Sunrise Avenue on the Island. This party has it all - Bruce Sutka has been hired to create the decor, DJ Adam Lipson has signed to perform, and you can reserve tables for your group or purchase tickets for your preferred seating time. What you may not know is that the 251 Lounge is home to the best, most exotic pizza on the planet! They serve personal, thin crust or Sicilian Square pizza made with the best ingredients available to mankind. The 251 also serves a marinated NY Strip Steak that is world-class! Check out page 15 for more info and make your NY Eve reservations now - this party will sell out soon! I’ve gotten numerous phone calls for the last 5 months about a restaurant just west of 95 on Northlake. Friends told me the food at this spot was extremely tasty. After eating there myself I agree. It’s called Bella Cucina, now in the old Positano’s location. Owners Tony & Sandra Zeka have created a moderately priced menu that features “Family Style Dinners starting at only $16.95 that feed 3-4 people! Even the most expensive dinners served family style are under $30, so a party of four can enjoy dinner for less than $8 per person! I always try the Spaghetti Bolognese on any Italian menu - if they can’t do that right there’s no need to try anything else. It was the best I‘ve had this decade! The sauce was layered with fresh tomatoes and chunks of flavorful meat, the pasta was perfectly cooked, the aroma from the dish was enchantingly powerful. It was tossed perfectly, not just pasta with sauce poured on top. With a table of 3 or 4 you can enjoy their pasta dishes family style at a price cheaper than if you cooked it yourself! If you enjoy Jazz, Bella Cucina is the best Tuesday dinner spot for you in town - Lionel Harrison hosts Jazz Jams every Tuesday from 8:30 to midnight. There’s no cover charge for great Jazz, and you’ll enjoy outstanding Italian food including wood fired pizza and breads! See this page for more info! PALM BEACH JOHNSON & JOHNSON HEIRESS

"

THROWN IN JAIL ON BURGLARY CHARGE I

f wild child Casey Johnson keeps it up she'll give those nutty DuPont's a challenge for being the most screwed up over-privileged family in America. The Johnson's are heirs to one of the biggest fortunes in the world, making billions from band-aids and other medical supplies. First we had one Johnson spoiled brat make a movie about how tough it is to be "Born Rich. " Living in L.A., 30-year old Casey Johnson has been very open as a lesbian and carrying on affairs with other wealthy children. Her girlfriend is Courtenay Semel, the daughter of Yahoo CEO Terry Semel. Recently Courtenay beat Casey up, allegedly giving her a black eye and bloody lip, then set her hair on fire. They made up and were back together last month. Casey's drug use has allegedly spiraled out of control and the latest episode is bizarre. Apparently Casey had become obsessed with fashion model Jasmine Lennard, who was not interested in a sexual relationship with her but maintained a friendship. Police allege that Casey broke into Lennard's Hollywood Apartment, stole underwear, shoes, clothes and other personal items, then got on her bed and used her vibrator, which she left on the bed, then took a shower and left a wet towel next to the vibrator. Casey then ended up in bed with Courtenay Semel, wearing Lennard's underwear, which somehow was noticed by Semel, who sent this text message to Lennard - "There's a problem, Jaz, Casey Johnson just got into bed with me and she is wearing your underwear, you need to call police. There are documents here, your shoes and your clothing -- you need to call the police." This led to Casey Johnson, the daughter of New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, being arrested for burglary, locked up in the Van Nuys jail and being held on $20,000 bail. Insiders say Casey had been getting around $100,000 a month from her family trust but has had those funds restricted by her mom, Sale Johnson, a regular in Palm Beach circles. In 2007 Casey stunned friends by buying herself a daughter in Kazakhstan through an adoption mill. A source said within weeks she was "too coked out and crazy to care for the child" and Sale Johnson flew out to take the child to New York where a Nanny is raising her. The rumor is the family is trying to get Casey out of L.A. and to Palm Beach or Wellington where they can more closely monitor her and set up 24-hour outpatient rehab. And the beat goes on. Robert Ray Huizenga facing 5 years in jail.....It was 2003 when Robert Huizenga, son of Wayne Huizenga, leveled a 71-year old man while driving drunk. Some were outraged as this was his 3rd arrest for DUI. Huzenga, with the help of cash and a lawyer, got no jail time, just a weak probation term. Huizena couldn't make it through the probation. He now sits in jail after a July 20th arrest for driving his boat while allegedly drunk and trying to dock it at the wrong home on his canal in Ft. Lauderdale. We'll see what happens after this, his 4th arrest for being drunk, goes to trial on December 10. Brownie's closes...... 74 years is a good run. Brownie's Tavern on South Andrews Avenue has closed. It was the oldest continually operating bar in Broward County. Originally opened by Brownie Robertson, Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong were among many who performed there in it's heyday. For the last 20 years it could have been described as a dive. The location will re-open in 2010 with a new name and new theme. What freedom?.......... Last month I told you my opinion about the loss of basic freedom of speech in this country. Now we have an American reporter, Amy Goodman, seized by Canadian secret police, searched and questioned about what she was going to say in a speech scheduled for that evening. Her papers and laptop computers were searched by authorities and Goodman was interrogated about what she was going to say in a speech at the Vancouver Public Library on November 25th. No doubt this would not have happened without U.S. Government officials approval, as Canadian authorities seemed to be waiting for her at the border. Goodman is known world-wide as a critic of U.S. policies and wars. After several hours of interrogation Goodman was released and gave her speech. Manson's kid comes out......... One of the most pathological humans this nation ever produced has a son. Mathew Roberts was born in 1968 one year before the Sharon Tate murder. His mother was in Manson's cult and gave the baby up for adoption. 30 years later Mathew used a search company to find his mother, who admitted after seeing a photo of him that Charles Manson was his biological father. He is nearly an exact facial replica of his father. Robert's told a reporter "I'm a peaceful person trapped in the face of a monster. " Roberts wrote Manson and got 10 letters back from the now 75-year old Manson, each signed with a swastika. Sex appeal won't work.......... Zsa Zsa Gabor finally met a man she couldn't hustle - Bernie Madoff. Zsa Zsa and her dimwit husband, Frederic von Anhalt, allegedly invested all their cash savings with Madoff and lost close to $10 million. The Feds have now filed a $118,000 tax lien on her Bel Air palace. Anhalt claims they will be forced to sell the landmark home, unless someone steps up to lend them some money.

GOSSIP

"What mainstream media won't tell you"

By Hutton Carter, III

Stupid Games.........Did you know that Rock, Paper, Scissors, that childhood game we all played actually has a world championship? It was held in Toronto at the Steam Whistle Brewery. Tim Conrad from Michigan won, beating Tom Butkin after 5 hours of play. Look for this amazing sport on ESPN soon, following 10 hours of poker. Gangster news.............. John Gotti is laughing in his grave. His son, John Gotti Jr., just hung another jury and walked out of jail on $2 million bail. This was the 4th hung jury for Gotti Jr. in 5 years. Despite a parade of ex-hoodlum pals testifying against him, Gotti Jr. stuck with his claim of having left the mob 10 years ago and given up the gangster life. Look for Gotti Jr. this winter at his favorite mob restaurant on Oakland Park Blvd. in Ft. Lauderdale......Cell-phones were ringing wild at sports bars all over town after the Feds busted Gambino and Lucchese crime family bookies 2 weeks ago. The Feds claimed that over $400 million was being handled every Sunday along the east coast. Several well-known local bookies who are regulars at the biggest sports bar on US-1 stopped taking bets, turned off their phones and scurried out when they got the news. By the next day everything was back in swing as action heated up for Monday night football, and anyone who had a bet in got paid, those who lost got the dreaded call - pay me by noon tomorrow or else. ...... The "Soprano Rat " Vincent "Vinny Ocean Palermo is back in jail doing at least a year for violating his rat deal with the Feds. I told you about Vinny Ocean opening strip clubs in Houston under his new government name, including a Penthouse Club that was busted for drugs & prostitution. The New Jersey based DeCavalante crew was the inspiration for the Soprano's HBO show. Vinny Ocean ratted them all out and no doubt will be watching his back while in the can. The line is 6-1 he won't make it out alive. The former boss of the DeCavalante crew, John D'Amato, was killed in 1992 after his secret gay life was exposed. This came to light again when mob hit man Robert Mormando testified in open court last month that he was gay, and had turned rat and renounced his mob membership because he knew a contract was out on him for being gay.........Robert Simels, one of the most famous gangster attorneys in the world, will be serving 14 years in prison after being convicted of having witnesses intimidated. (Big surprise) Simels represented Henry Hill (the guy made famous in Goodfellas), NY Jet Mark Gastineau and was representing Roger Khan, allegedly one of the worlds biggest cocaine dealers who operates out of Guyana. Simels admitted to conspiring with his client to bribe witnesses or harm their family members to stop them from testifying. What they won't tell you........... We all know the horror of land mines. Often they are left in areas long after wars and children of all ages have lost limbs and been killed by them. Last year nearly 4,000 such injuries were reported and many go unreported. Instead of leading the way the U.S. Government under President Obama has refused to sign onto the Mine Ban Treaty. Bush also refused to sign the treaty. Every NATO nation has signed the accord. Russia and China have said they will join the movement. 156 nations have signed the treaty. Our State Department recently said flatly in a press conference, carried by no networks, that the U.S. will not sign on to the treaty............With the recent announcement that Palm Beach County taxpayers paid $3 million in interest for $67 million of Solid Waste Bonds that we don't need now and may not ever need, taxpayers may ask how much in bond interest do we pay every year? How much bond money has been borrowed by WPB and Palm Beach County government? I can't tell you because I can't find out the exact true figure. If you can please call the Palm Beach Sun and tell us - I'll publish the true numbers! Have you heard about........... Two of the top 3 German Restaurants in the country are in Florida - Hollerbach's Willow Tree Cafe is number 2 and The German Restaurant in Holiday is number 3, the top German restaurant in America is the Bavarian Grill in Plano, Texas - as voted on by German restaurant lovers nationwide...........WPB Mayorial candidate Jeri Muoio has cranked up the cash machine, having fundraisers to build a war chest for the upcoming election. The opposition better get going or well be stuck with another term of puppet-master Lois 'I'm staying in the closet' Frankelstein running WPB from behind the curtain........ Meredith Baxter, who played Mommy in the TV show Family Ties has come out as a lesbian after 3 marriages went bad. At 62, Baxter says she realized she was gay 7 years ago when she started her first relationship with a woman......The escort service doing big business on Palm Beach Island - so much business they now have an apartment above a wellknown store where 5-6 girls hangout for weeks at a time waiting for the phone to ring. Two wealthy clients allegedly demanded an under 10-minute arrival time to get the business done while their wives are out. The girls have been strolling the street and chatting up waitresses at a local restaurant and telling their story and talking about how bored they are.........Remember, Don't repeat a word of this! It's all on the QT!

HOME BUYER TAX CREDIT Earlier this month, legislation was passed that extends the existing First-Time Home Buyer Tax Credit of up to $8,000 until April 30, 2010 and expands the credit to grant up to $6,500 credit to current homeowners purchasing a new or existing home between November 2, 2009 and April 30, 2010. Repeat purchasers must have used their previous home as a principal residence for 5 of the 8 previous years. The income limits are $125,000 for single filers and $225,000 for joint filers and the price of the purchased home cannot exceed $800,000. The new purchase can be a smaller home and you do not need to sell your current home. The combination of attractive home prices, low interest rates and tax incentives makes the next 6 months a tripleplay for Buyers and a great time for Sellers to market their homes for sale.
