X X Troy Merritt’s opening-round 62 tied the course record at the Champion Trace course. The tournament record 18-hole score is 60 by Chad Collins and Scott Stallings in 2017 at the Grand National Course in Alabama. X X In the four years of the Barbasol Championship, Merritt is the only winner to

have led or co-led after every round. X X Billy Horschel, who finished T2, made only two bogeys all week, one each in the second and fourth rounds. X X Due to rain delays on Sunday, eight players didn’t tee off in the fourth round until Monday morning. Just 21 players completed the final round on Sunday.

J.T. Poston delivered a bogey-free 6-under 66 in the fourth round.

In last year’s debut at Champions at Keene Trace, the Champion Trace course was played with the nines reversed from their order in everyday play. This time the course will be played in the same order the members play it. That means a tougher finish, as the 18th hole was the hardest hole in the tournament last year when it played as No. 9. It’s not a particularly long par 4 at 429 yards, but there is water all the way down the right side affecting both the tee shot and approach, and the green is small.
