fter June kicks off with the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide on the first weekend of the month, the RBC Canadian Open—held this year at Hamilton Golf & Country Club in Ontario—moves from its past July dates into a new spot on the schedule the week before the U.S. Open. Then it’s on to California, where Pebble Beach Golf Links will host its sixth U.S. Open. The Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Conn., follows in its usual dates before a pair of new events are held back-to-back in late June and early July. The Rocket Mortgage Classic marks a return of the PGA TOUR to the Detroit area, this time in the city itself for the first time at Detroit Golf Club. And the 3M Open makes its PGA TOUR debut at TPC Twin Cities outside Minneapolis, longtime site of a PGA TOUR Champions event. Next comes the John Deere Classic in its spot before The Open Championship, which this year will be held at Royal Portrush Golf Club in Northern Ireland. The Open has been held in Northern Ireland on only one previous occasion, in 1951, also at Royal Portrush. That same week, the Barbasol Championship will

be held outside Lexington, Kentucky. The following week it’s back in the U.S. for the World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational at TPC Southwind in Memphis and the Barracuda Championship in Reno, Nevada. That represents a new sponsorship and new site for the WGC event formerly held in Akron, Ohio. The Regular Season ends at the Wyndham Championship, boosted this year by the new Wyndham Rewards Top 10 bonus for the top finishers in the Regular Season. The move of the PGA Championship to May cleared the way for a three-tournament FedExCup Playoffs stretch in August, starting with THE NORTHERN TRUST at Liberty National in New Jersey, moving to the BMW Championship held this year at Medinah Country Club outside Chicago, and coming to a thrilling conclusion in the TOUR Championship at Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Club. This year there will be one leaderboard for both the TOUR Championship and FedExCup, with the Starting Strokes scoring system giving an advantage to players higher in the FedExCup standings. 

The Rocket Mortgage Classic marks a return of the PGA TOUR to the Detroit area, and to the city itself for the first time, at Detroit Golf Club.
