CHECK THIS OUT  This was Martin Laird’s third time in a playoff at this event; all have involved three players. He won in 2009 and lost in 2010 when Jonathan Byrd made an ace on the 17th, which was the fourth playoff hole.  Laird joined Jim Furyk (1995,’98,’99) and Kevin Na (2011,’19) as multiple winners of the event.  Laird became the first player since Matthew Wolff (2019 3M Open) to win on the PGA TOUR competing on a sponsor exemption.  Cantlay finished T8 after finishing first (2017) or second (2018, ’19) in the previous three years.

2020 Champion

Martin Laird, Scotland

Playoffs in Las Vegas are a tradition for Martin Laird, who defeated Austin Cook and Matthew Wolff for his first PGA TOUR victory in seven years.

The four-hole closing stretch features classic risk-reward challenges starting with the drivable par-4 15th. The par-5 16th is reachable in two, guarded in front by a pond. While the last two holes don’t offer as many birdie opportunities, water is very much in play on the par-3 17th and par-4 18th.
