Meet the team of JUSTIN MICHAEL and ALICEN HOLLOWAY. They each personify concierge real estate professionalism. Alicen was Dielmann Sotheby’s 2017 Rookie of the Year, Justin received that distinction in 2018, with $32 million in home sales collectively. Justin is a committed west county business owner. His local business Dirty Dog Wash has been cleaning up (so to speak) in Chesterfield for six years. “We are a close-knit community. I remember when I was building out the new space for the business, people would come and knock on our windows during construction and say, “We can’t wait to support your business!” Recently our company sponsored The American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign to raise money for breast cancer awareness. Justin raised donations with real community support at his ‘Bark-‘N-Boobie Bash’ held at the Dirty Dog Wash. “It was such a successful and inspiring event! My community came together to impact an unbelievable cause! I live, eat, shop and run my real estate business where I meet people every day. The STL Art Fair is one of my favorite events. I look forward to it every fall and never miss the opening night to get a first look at all the amazing creations from artists all over the world. For three years I found myself drawn to a particular sculptor’s work and would spend a lot of time in his booth, circling, contemplating his works of art. Mark Winter is a mixed-media sculpture artist, and his work is unique, the kind you’ve ever seen before. And I was particularly fascinated by, and drawn to his spheres. Each one is made from recycled metal objects that may otherwise be referred to as “junk”. Somehow, Mark uses his mastery to weld the objects into a perfect ball, creating a visual puzzle of tools, keys, license plates, and just about anything you could imagine. Each sphere is a conversation piece. After three years of checking out Mark’s sculptures, I finally decided to pull the trigger and purchase one of these masterpieces! Only one problem. He had just one sphere left and he wouldn’t sell it to me because he needed it for the last two art shows of the season. So to dissuade my disappointment, he proposed that, instead of buying his last sculpture, I could collect items from around my house; maybe some things that would have significant meaning, and he would sculpt my own personal work of art. I loved that idea and took it one step further. I was turning 50 and had planned a huge party. I realized this could be a great way to collect personal objects for the junk

ball! What if I asked everyone I invited to participate in the creation of my sculpture? To bring the greatest gift of all to my party...a metal object for my own Mark Winter creation — my sphere! The contributions from friends and family ranged from humorous to tear provoking, and I couldn’t wait to get them to Mark so he could commence with his creation. Once Mark had received all of my birthday gifts, it took three months for him to work his magic and create my own personal, emotional, humorous, special and memorable “junk” ball. And after the long wait, Mark delivered my sphere to me personally. It was perfection. It represented how my friends saw me, how we had impacted each other’s lives, hilarious moments we had shared, and great times I would never forget. Mark and I had the best time exploring how he had used his extraordinary artistry to transform my junk into his masterpiece. And mine. His own sense of humor is so evident in the placement of all the items and how creatively he grouped each and every one of my specially curated 50th birthday gifts. There are even objects hidden inside that can only be seen by the most discerning admirers. My sculptural globe is displayed proudly in its own distinctive spot in my living room, where my family and my 50th birthday friends can stand back like the art critics we are, and reflect on the memories that are behind the items within it! r

My husband, Ethan, and myself have been cyclists for decades and thus, have many friends who are cyclists. Chain rings, bike horns, pedals, and even entire wheels were given to me and are represented throughout the ball.


ROTARY PHONE Krista and I have been friends since 1st grade and

lived around the corner from each other growing up. Countless hours were spent at her house which resulted in some of my finest memories. Her parents had rotary phones long after they were phased out. I can’t look at a rotary phone without thinking of the Krombach family, and love that it is present in the ball AND that my kids and their friends have no idea what it is!

favorite things T H E M O D E L-T U R N E D - E N T R E P R E N E U R D E S C R I B E S H E R S E L F A S A C O L L E C T O R Miranda Kerr’s home, she says, is her sanctuary. And her interior design style of choice is “contemporary with clean lines and timeless pieces,” she tells RESIDE®. The Australian-born model and entrepreneur lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Evan Spiegel, 29, co-founder of Snapchat, and her sons, Flynn, 8, and Hart, 1. (As of publication time, Kerr was pregnant with her third child.) The house itself boasts lots of natural light and open spaces, she says. “With two children and another on the way I try to create spaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional for a family.” They also love to entertain family and friends. “So we spend a lot of time outside in the garden and by the pool,” she says. Aside from being a busy mom, she’s a multitasking businesswoman, running KORA Organics, a line of Australianmade skin-care products made of natural and certified organic ingredients. She started the company in 2009.

She’s also a collector. “I love collecting pieces from all over the world, but one of my favorite things to collect is books and also crystals—I have crystals in every room,” she says. Kerr, 36, shares her five favorite items at home.

OUTDOOR TRAMPOLINE Her family spends lots of time outside, and “one of our favorite things to do is to play on the trampoline,” she says. “When Flynn has friends over for playdates I can hear them jumping and giggling all afternoon. It brings me so much joy as it reminds me of my own childhood growing up in Australia. Plus, it’s a great
