Sotheby’s Auction House pounded In 1744, the the gavel at auction for the first time,
and since then it has grown to be recognized as one of the world’s most celebrated and respected brands. In 1976 Sotheby’s clients worldwide asked a simple question, “If you can sell my art collection, why can’t you sell my home?” And so, Sotheby’s International Realty was born. In 2005, Dielmann Sotheby’s International Realty in Clayton became only the seventh Sotheby’s International Realty affiliate, and has been the most trusted brand in real estate and customer satisfaction in St. Louis ever since. Our company mantra, ONLY WITH US, is simple, poignant, and powerfully accurate. It is the epicenter of who we are, and what we do, every single day. Those three simple words encapsulate our promise to you. WITH US you have our promise that your greatest investment – your home – is our highest priority. In a real estate space known for sameness, we are the difference – the future – the proverbial cutting edge. In a sea of agent signs and slogans, we are the blue sign – legacied and profound. At Dielmann Sotheby’s International Realty, we are the keeper of the facts and the harbinger of market trends. Where others will express opinions, we are deeply and accurately data-driven. Our marketing is stunning and world-class, yet brilliantly local, bringing out all the best our region has to offer. The proof is in your hand right now. Our celebrated RESIDE magazine has become the prototype of creative, custom, relevant, and thought-
provoking content. Our company and offices are known for the finest brokers, agents, staff, and support of any company in the region, and we live up to it every single day. We don’t just set the bar… we are the bar. Because our sales strategies are dynamic, nimble, and brilliant, and our love of what we do and how we do it is paramount, we can say with confidence and conviction — ONLY WITH US. Sotheby’s International Realty has 970 offices in 72 countries and territories across the world. And now, Dielmann Sotheby’s is adding one more to that international number. We are thrilled to announce the opening of office #971, an expansion designed to better serve our extraordinary clients from East to West! Dielmann Sotheby’s International Realty is proudly opening our newest location in the city of Wildwood at the amazing Wildwood Town Center. St. Louis and its surrounding counties are vast, varied, and diverse — we take seriously our job of partnering our most talented agents with the most amazing clients in St. Louis. We are humbled & honored to be a more integrated part of your community — where you work, run, walk your dogs, go to school, raise your families, and live your exceptional lives! Look for a grand opening announcement in the coming weeks, and plan to come by and see our new space! Welcome to Dielmann Sotheby’s WEST! »

N G JUSTIN MICHAEL
EX P A N D
Meet the team of JUSTIN MICHAEL and ALICEN HOLLOWAY. They each personify concierge real estate professionalism. Alicen was Dielmann Sotheby’s 2017 Rookie of the Year, Justin received that distinction in 2018, with $32 million in home sales collectively. Justin is a committed west county business owner. His local business Dirty Dog Wash has been cleaning up (so to speak) in Chesterfield for six years. “We are a close-knit community. I remember when I was building out the new space for the business, people would come and knock on our windows during construction and say, “We can’t wait to support your business!” Recently our company sponsored The American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign to raise money for breast cancer awareness. Justin raised donations with real community support at his ‘Bark-‘N-Boobie Bash’ held at the Dirty Dog Wash. “It was such a successful and inspiring event! My community came together to impact an unbelievable cause! I live, eat, shop and run my real estate business where I meet people every day. Whether it’s washing a dog, or raising money for an important cause, West County
and its residents are the center of it all for me.” His partner, Alicen Holloway, raised her family west. “I was the quintessential soccer mom. I would load up my SUV with equipment, my two girls, and what seemed like half the neighborhood! The PTO was a regular calendar event for me. So I guess you could say, where we live is who we are.” Sales is in Alicen’s DNA. Two brothers, her mom, and dad – all accomplished sales professionals. So when Alicen’s background in social work converged with real estate, the perfect recipe for customer service was created. “I’m in this to create real estate experiences and not just transactions. My clients deserve it, and they count on me to provide that. I share amazing life events with them, and I am proud to call them lifelong friends. I’m determined every day to help them ‘find their happy.’” Now in 2019, Justin and Alicen have combined their unique skills and portfolios to create a dynamic, powerhouse team to serve their extraordinary clientele. We are proud to have them represent our incredible brand in our new west county location.
entrepreneur, having founded and grown three successful small businesses. Her drive and determination make her the ultimate client advocate. She is a Lake St. Louis resident and is dedicated to helping grow her community and its surrounding areas. From Renaud Center’s ‘Trunk or Treat’, to a ‘Sip and Shop’ and ‘Dapper Dog Day’ at the Meadows, to the Founders Park ‘Halloween in the Park’, Angi is a central figure in her community. She has copious knowledge of the west county marketplace, schools, and community offerings. Her understanding of market data, and her ability to interpret what the market is saying makes Angi an integral part of our west county team.
As an investor, Rick is proud to invest in the communities where he restores homes. “I think it’s important to rebuild what is already there if possible. It keeps the community whole and keeps the history intact. I like to win, so I live to negotiate for my clients. They depend on me, and I’m energized by seeing them walk away with the best, most satisfying real estate transaction possible.” If you think he’s competitive in business, you should participate in his annual “Great Ginger Bread House Challenge” for the holidays. Clients from near and far build their best house for recognition and prizes, and the coveted “Best in Snow” award. “My clients are like family, and I represent them like they are family. I’m in this to make every part of the transaction a winning experience.”
“I am the biggest fan of where I live, and the people who live here. This is an amazing community, and it’s my privilege to help them through one of the most exciting, stressful, invigorating, unnerving, and happiest transitions in life! My husband and I have two great kids, so I know what it’s like to move your life, and I am ready to make it as smooth as it can be. Moving is an inevitability, and I’m committed to making it the experience it should be for my clients, neighbors, and friends.”
Meet RICK ADAMS. Investor. Restoration specialist. Competitor. Rick played Football and Lacrosse at Lindenwood University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 2012. He brings the same competitive nature to his real estate deals as he does on the field. “It’s the competition I love, and it always, always benefits my clients.”
ANGI DUNHAM is the consummate
There is nothing quite like the strength of a Mother/Daughter team, and Martel & Mester are proof of that. Meet the team of LISA MARTEL and JILL MESTER. Lisa’s professional vitae includes marketing director for Simon Properties where she marketed shopping centers in the US and Mexico. Since starting her career in residential real estate, Lisa has accomplished incredible professional goals, including Rookie of the Year at Dielmann Sotheby’s in 2015. “Everything I’ve done is because of my clients. I’m absolutely energized by getting to know people, and I am relentless in my pursuit of finding homes for them and their families. I want them to feel like I am their advocate. It comes
Lisa’s business has steadily grown because of clients referring more clients. “Someone asked me once, “Why would someone recommend you to their best friend?” I said, “Because my clients always become my friends. This isn’t just transactional for me, it is all about gaining trust through hard work. I believe that the homes where people live are the places where they write their life stories. Holidays, childbirths and graduations, weddings and job promotions, are all celebrated there. What an amazing privilege it is for me to help them find that place.” Jill is clearly her mother’s daughter. According to Jill, “Real estate is not about making a deal, it’s about creating an experience. A beautiful, transformative, positive life event.” She is the mother of three boys, and plays an active role in her faith community at the Holy Infant Parish in Ballwin. “My family and I live in west county because our roots are here. I grew up here, many of my clients grew up here. West County is known for its community events, big yards, fireworks, and Friday night football. When asked, “What is the difference your clients see in you?” Jill’s answer is absolutely authentic. “I am creating a legacy, just like the clients I represent. We are real people who build our careers here, have families, adopt pets, play little league soccer, and
He is one of our 13 Mizzou graduates at Dielmann Sotheby’s and is particularly gifted at representing the Tigers at every opportunity. “I’m passionate about home buyers. The idea that I could find just the right place for a young family, or an up-and-coming entrepreneur finding their first home, is invigorating to me! I have a son and daughter of my own, and 4 amazing grandchildren, so I know how it feels to live your best life in the perfect space. I’m also a proud baby boomer, and I know what it’s like to sell the home where you raised your kids, and then downsize to start a great new adventure. So I guess what I am saying, is that I am all in when it comes to matching the perfect home with just the right client. I am fortunate enough to travel the world, live in a great town, and represent the best buyers and sellers on the planet. It doesn’t get better than this!”

LISA MARTEL & JILL MESTER
Meet TERRY ROSS, a proud St. Louis native, and homeowner in the Chesterfield Trails neighborhood in West County. Terry joined a small 17 person IT company in 1989, and led the team through sales growth and mergers to a 400+ employee firm. After great success, he sold his portion of the company in 2011 to pursue other business ventures. T, as we call him, was recruited by the Warner Hall Group at Dielmann Sotheby’s, and has been representing buyers and sellers with passion and conviction ever since.
catch the school bus here. To be that person who helps them find the brick and mortar where that happens is one of the most important and fulfilling things a realtor can do. I love my job, and I hope my clients see that in everything I do.” Meet CAROL COOKE . Carol is the personification of a very long list of all things Sotheby’s. A frequent world traveler, Carol could easily call Brazil, South Africa, France, Australia, Germany, Jamaica, The Dominican Republic, Russia, and England her homes away from home. And she has contacts in each country for our clients who are looking for properties in all of the 72 countries where the Sotheby’s International Realty brand has offices. She has copious relocation experience, and has served clients at all purchase levels, from million-dollar-plus clients to the first time home buyer.
Carol and her husband, Mick, have lived in Ballwin’s Meadowbrook Country Club for 20 years. “My husband is from Sheffield, England, and our blended family of 7 has experienced all the best that west county has to offer. We love living here, and my clients come from all parts of St. Louis, and the US. This is such a wonderfully diverse city, and every seller and buyer brings a new dimension to my real estate portfolio.” Her clients have grown accustomed to a level of service that she brings to every transaction. “This is my job, and I know that with every interaction they count on me to make their sale or purchase seamless, stress-free, and as enjoyable as the process can be. I mean, who doesn’t want to wake up the morning after a closing and believe they made the right decision, they negotiated confidently and strategically, and they are certain that their goals throughout
the process were met. It’s my job to give them that experience every single time, whether here or across the globe.” And finally, meet CANDACE FARMER. Candace earned her Executive MBA in 2019 from the Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis. An accomplished and gifted professional with a dynamic business and personal portfolio, Candace engages and consults clients from all walks of life. “I am a firm believer in the concept that knowledge is power. There is really no substitute for knowing what you are talking about, for understanding the market around you, and having the ability to translate that invaluable information to help a client make informed and exciting decisions. Buying or selling a home can be a roller coaster experience, so knowledge and expertise are paramount.” Candace, her husband Joe, and their two girls are part of the daily fabric of the west county community. Candace is actively involved in local politics, and husband Joe is a councilman. “We place ourselves in positions to help our neighbors. We support them because that’s the beginning of community. Sometimes that means giving advice to a client who needs another bedroom for a growing family, sometimes it’s helping them know who to call at City Hall. I know I’ve done a great job at the end of the day when I have helped to make someone in my community glad that they live in a west county neighborhood. These are our neighbors, and we are here for each other.” r

few years ago, Jeff Cox found himself at a crossroads. Recently married with a successful career in medical sales and a new adoptive baby on the way, he and his wife Beth wanted to find something that would allow him to take his knowledge of the corporate world and apply it to a new endeavor. Something they could build for their new growing family. Something that would allow him to cut down on his travel schedule, while making an impact on the community around him in a positive way — simply put, to help people.
everything as a group effort when it comes to education. If something is working for one therapist in one area of the body, we take out downtime and get on the table and learn what works best. It’s an ever evolving knowledge base that helps everyone enhance their client’s experience.”
That opportunity came in the form of Elements Massage — opening his office in Chesterfield, he has spent the last several years building a unique place staffed by professionals that focus on therapeutic massage and caring for their clients. A group that works with each person to fully understand what is going on with each individual’s body in their own way. Helping their clients heal from years of repetitive-use injury from sports, too much sitting at a desk in front of a computer, or other daily stressors that build up over time.
“You have to be able to ask the right questions to figure out why a person is on the phone, what their real issue is; sometimes clients aren’t even able to explain what is going on, and it takes the right questions to be able to draw out of them the answers needed to partner them with the right therapist, which is key. We aren’t just filling slots on a schedule, that would be easy to do by putting it online, and if we did that the experience and the results wouldn’t be as good for our clients.”
According to Jeff, the biggest difference between his Chesterfield location and the other massage studios in town is the culture. “We’ve cultivated a very solid group of therapists from top to bottom, we take the more tenured people on our staff and partner them with a newer member of our team, having them take them under their wing. There are no secret tricks, we look at
Beyond the ongoing education and learning for their therapists, the biggest focus for Elements Massage Chesterfield is matching people with the right therapist in the first place.
HIMALAYAN SALT STONE MASSAGE
In the end Cox says it’s that client experience and those therapeutic results that are most important because it gets people talking. “There is nothing more rewarding in my opinion than knowing that you have helped someone, and having them share that message with others.” r

treasure BY HEATHER JOHNSON
The STL Art Fair is one of my favorite events. I look forward to it every fall and never miss the opening night to get a first look at all the amazing creations from artists all over the world. For three years I found myself drawn to a particular sculptor’s work and would spend a lot of time in his booth, circling, contemplating his works of art. Mark Winter is a mixed-media sculpture artist, and his work is unique, the kind you’ve ever seen before. And I was particularly fascinated by, and drawn to his spheres. Each one is made from recycled metal objects that may otherwise be referred to as “junk”. Somehow, Mark uses his mastery to weld the objects into a perfect ball, creating a visual puzzle of tools, keys, license plates, and just about anything you could imagine. Each sphere is a conversation piece. After three years of checking out Mark’s sculptures, I finally decided to pull the trigger and purchase one of these masterpieces! Only one problem. He had just one sphere left and he wouldn’t sell it to me because he needed it for the last two art shows of the season. So to dissuade my disappointment, he proposed that, instead of buying his last sculpture, I could collect items from around my house; maybe some things that would have significant meaning, and he would sculpt my own personal work of art. I loved that idea and took it one step further. I was turning 50 and had planned a huge party. I realized this could be a great way to collect personal objects for the junk
ball! What if I asked everyone I invited to participate in the creation of my sculpture? To bring the greatest gift of all to my party...a metal object for my own Mark Winter creation — my sphere! The contributions from friends and family ranged from humorous to tear provoking, and I couldn’t wait to get them to Mark so he could commence with his creation. Once Mark had received all of my birthday gifts, it took three months for him to work his magic and create my own personal, emotional, humorous, special and memorable “junk” ball. And after the long wait, Mark delivered my sphere to me personally. It was perfection. It represented how my friends saw me, how we had impacted each other’s lives, hilarious moments we had shared, and great times I would never forget. Mark and I had the best time exploring how he had used his extraordinary artistry to transform my junk into his masterpiece. And mine. His own sense of humor is so evident in the placement of all the items and how creatively he grouped each and every one of my specially curated 50th birthday gifts. There are even objects hidden inside that can only be seen by the most discerning admirers. My sculptural globe is displayed proudly in its own distinctive spot in my living room, where my family and my 50th birthday friends can stand back like the art critics we are, and reflect on the memories that are behind the items within it! r
Many clients gave me keys, and my broker gave me a huge keychain full of keys — including an original supra key!
My husband, Ethan, and myself have been cyclists for decades and thus, have many friends who are cyclists. Chain rings, bike horns, pedals, and even entire wheels were given to me and are represented throughout the ball.
ROTARY PHONE Krista and I have been friends since 1st grade and
lived around the corner from each other growing up. Countless hours were spent at her house which resulted in some of my finest memories. Her parents had rotary phones long after they were phased out. I can’t look at a rotary phone without thinking of the Krombach family, and love that it is present in the ball AND that my kids and their friends have no idea what it is!

In the 1920s, STL was a fashion hub. Our Washington Avenue historic Garment District trailed only New York City in manufacturing and influence. The Saint Louis Fashion Fund just celebrated its fifth anniversary and St. Louis’ rich sartorial history at a lavish gala inside Neiman Marcus. 350+ designers, leaders, and patrons filled Neiman Marcus to salute five years of tremendous work by the Saint Louis Fashion Fund. And her interior design style of choice is “contemporary with clean lines and timeless pieces,” she tells RESIDE®. The Australian-born model and entrepreneur lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Evan Spiegel, 29, co-founder of Snapchat, and her sons, Flynn, 8, and Hart, 1. (As of publication time, Kerr was pregnant with her third child.) The house itself boasts lots of natural light and open spaces, she says. “With two children and another on the way I try to create spaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional for a family.” They also love to entertain family and friends. “So we spend a lot of time outside in the garden and by the pool,” she says. Aside from being a busy mom, she’s a multitasking businesswoman, running KORA Organics, a line of Australianmade skin-care products made of natural and certified organic ingredients. She started the company in 2009.
She’s also a collector. “I love collecting pieces from all over the world, but one of my favorite things to collect is books and also crystals—I have crystals in every room,” she says. Kerr, 36, shares her five favorite items at home.
ROYAL ALBERT FRIENDSHIP TE A SET “I love to drink tea and have a special teacup (it’s one from the collection I designed for Royal Albert) that I have my tea in each morning,” she says. “If I’m traveling, I also take the teacup with me so it feels like I have a little bit of home with me no matter where I am.”
HALL WAY CONSOLE “I love the combination of the soft pastel tone and brass base, and how the clean lines are juxtaposed by the three-dimensional front panels,” she says of this piece from her Love.Joy.Bliss line for Universal Furniture. “Simple, stylish and practical. It hides away our family board games and is the perfect piece to display family photos and fresh flowers.”
KORA ORGANICS PRODUCTS “You can find them in nearly every room of the house, from the bathrooms to my bedside table, Flynn’s and Hart’s bedrooms to the kitchen,” she says. Her husband, she says, opts for the Noni Glow Face Oil and the Turmeric Brightening & Exfoliating 2-in-1 mask.
