HUMANS UN CONTIENCE OF FOOD The resources in the world are being reduced and nearly are going to disappear. One of the resources more need it are the food that is less every day. The foods the people buy in the markets are normally produced by farms. These farms can be of animals and also of plants like vegetables and fruits. One of the major reasons why the food is declining every day more is the human overpopulation, every time a person born more food need to be produced and more food is wasted. The agriculture is the major producer of food that has the world like in the south of the USA is the huge farms were you can’t see the other side of the harvest. But not always the harvest are producing with constant because are the other thing that affect the harvests, like the climate change. This change in the climate causes tornadoes, storms, droughts, tsunamis, hurricanes and a lot of other problems to the farmers. The climate change is starting by the contamination of the rivers and the smoke of the city. Now in day the food is every time more demanded. In the world are people that waste the food as are people that don’t have any type of food. This problem has ever been in the world but in the 50 last years has been increased more than 2 times. Now in day more than 100,000,000 people are into the poverty and dying of hunger. Of which 35,000 of people dye each day by hunger. The humans are very unconscious about what happened in the world because as we know that the people are dying but we don’t stop of wasting and contaminating the world.

The first time that people started to domesticate plants and animals was around 12,000 years ago in the Middle East. It developed and it expanded the agriculture all around the world, after the Middle East was china, Mesoamerica. The hunters stop the wild spot of hunting and started to be agricultures, domesticating plants and animal in their backyard. While the time pass and the agriculture stared to develop, fishing started. People adapted to any condition, rapidly there were crops and animals in farms, but not much time pass until certain plants stared to be exploited. After they discover the harvesting the seeds started so now they could have more of one plant. But the food production advanced and it started to be a problem, it started to be an excess of food production. Not all is bad this over food production it could be exchanged with other goods. The agriculture developed independently in Mexico, Central America, in Peru, north of china and many more, but that tells us that the agriculture was needed all around the world. All of this was really help full for Europe because there was trade that benefits them. The trade stated and each city had its own product to trade. Medieval European crops had to grow and produce more so there was when the chemicals started to be use. The Europeans started to have the biggest production of yield for that time. Science and technology had a really significance to food production, they created artificial fertilizers so that the soil was good enough for plants and the plants have a healthy growth. Nutritionals also had an important role because they started to understand the nutritional components of food which help to have a balanced diet.

The agriculture give many benefits to the community, many farmers came know as hunters. The food has to be well preserved so that it can be transported to other places and the trade can be completed. Actually there are many chemicals that are put in to the food for many different reasons and it has been an abuse of those chemicals that had concern all the world. Every day there is more demand of food and every day it is discover many new ways of food production. People figured the way to maintain all the 4


communities that are around with food. Everything becomes a problem now all of the good and healthy food is not so produced because it is expensive so people prefer fats food. All of the advanced that had science and agricultures had been really significant for what is now the food production.

There are a lot of issues in the world one of them is the food production. Food production is one of the most important issues said by Global food 5

security. Although food production is a big global issue, we need it or we will be really bad with our form of life. In 31 July of 2013 the food


industry AVURE have grown from giving food only to US, then to Europe and now to the world this make people grown a lot. The Agriculture Department issues public health alert, saying strain of salmonella in Foster Farms poultry may have caused 278 people to become ill, mostly on the West Coast. On October 24, 2013 the food and Drug administration is investigating about the case that 600 dogs died. Two brothers own a farm named Jensen farms that introduce food to the market and that food improperly washed that kill 33 people, they are going to be 6 years of prison. Indian police arrest school principal Meena Kumari and her husband Arjun Rai because they poisoned a meal and serve it at school and that meal was contaminated with pesticide and responsible for the deaths of 23 children. Study published find out that breast milk sold and donated online is often contaminated with high levels of bacteria, in some are a few instances of salmonella. The experts of food safety say the government shutdown is endangering what America eats, all inspections of domestic food except meat and poultry have halted and the centers for disease control and prevention recalled furloughed workers to handle a salmonella outbreak that has sickened hundreds of people in 18 states. The people is questioning of the food can be better so now the chefs are looking for fresh food from homes gardens says Sam Wortman. 6


Statistics of Food Production Food production is a very important global issue because instead of decreasing its increasing very quickly and every year it increases more. It increases because the more population the world has there is more demand of food. In the last 60 years the earth’s population has almost tripled and the population keeps on growing. To feed so many people food production has grown a lot. It has grown so much that now it’s a global issue. It’s a global issue because it uses resources such as water. The average amount of water used per year only for agriculture is 2.4 trillion cubic meters. This water is used for irrigation and also for livestock rising. In many places you will find hundreds of hectares only used for agriculture. In eastern Asia the cereal production is 2 billion tons per year. Places like New Zealand, which isn’t a big country, exports to over 140 different territories. South America exports twice as much fruits as any other country. 64% of the world’s vegetables come from Spain, Netherlands, China and Mexico.

Also much of the water used for food production is for livestock rising. Animals are part of our daily diet. New Zealand and Denmark are famous for their bacon and they earn $500 per person for exporting this. The more a country develops then the more meat it needs. In the present, manufacturing meat faster than the animal has become something that everyone does. 13 thousand liters of water are used to produce one kilogram of meat. From 1990 to 2001 the meat that Brazil exports to Europe has grown from 40% to 74% and every day is growing more.

Another problem is that food production emits numerous gases used in fertilizers. The last year the emittion of gases increased 1.6 percent which is a lot.

Food is something extremely necessary for the human can survive. Technology has help to produce more food faster and in a more essay way. The agriculture and animal husbandry start 6000 years ago in the ancient egypt.in this time the people depend of their own hands to cultivate there food and they need to rise their own animals like cows, chickens if they want to eat them. They need to produce or trade the food that they eat. the first technological invention was the wheel that help the people with their crops and to transport things to far distance, in that way they can trade with other people, and have more food variety. Then the invention of cars, boat, airplane make that the people can have more food and different food because of trading. That where the first effects of technology in the food that the people can transported food.

Then technology was used to help the people produce food faster and in essay way. Technology was used to create big fabrics, in the first fabrics people work cutting cleaning the food. But then the industrial revolution was periods of time were the fabrics stop using people and use machines. These big machines that cook, freeze, cut, separate materials, clean. Make the food production faster and easier. The people that work in the field of crops recollecting the food were replaced be big tractors that can make the work faster.

Food production is also very important in an economy way. Some countries depend in the exportation of food to receive many. For example Ecuador main source of income after the petroleum is the exportation of bananas, cacao. And technology makes these possible in many ways. The fertilizers help the plants grow faster and bigger and defend them self’s of insects or bacteria’s. Small airplanes help spread the fertilizers faster to all the plants. Then the transportation in boat or in airplane allowed that the products traveled the entire world. Then when the food arrives to their destination big machines converted that primary product in the final product. For example Ecuador produce cacao the cacao is send to Switzerland, in there the cacao is converted to chocolate. That is some of the effects of technology in food production
