CHAMBER COMMITTEES Agriculture Committee: The Ag Committee has completed their budgeting process for 2013/2014. They will begin contacting major sponsors. They are continuing to plan for 2013 WRLS. Ambassadors /Membership Committee: The committee has done various ribbon cuttings in the area. Leadership Dickinson Committee: They will have their first 2013/2014 session in September. Promotions Committee: The 2013 Holiday Craft Show will be held at the Astoria on December 7th from 9am to 4pm. Registration opened April 1st, 2013, spots are still available. Business After Hours The next BAH is October 1, 2013 hosted by The Dickinson Museum Center. Government Affairs Committee: The Governmental Affairs Committee has begun planning for the State of the City Luncheon.

Anytime Fitness Introduces Lindsey Raymond as New Manager Anytime Fitness announced they have hired Lindsey Raymond as the new manager for their 24-hour fitness club located at 269 16th Street West. She will maintain regular staffed hours at Anytime Fitness. Raymond most recently was the US Bank Branch Manager in downtown Dickinson. Additionally, she is a Dickinson native and is a graduate of Dickinson High School and Dickinson State University. “I’m excited to be a part of the Anytime Fitness family and look forward to being a part of all the exciting things happening at Anytime Fitness Dickinson,” said Raymond. “I truly believe in the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and working out, and I am excited to share my passion with others.” “I can be relied upon to support and encourage members to strive and meet their fitness goals,” she added.

Border States Electric Names Northwest Region Manager Brad Kvalheim has been named northwest region manager for Border States Electric (BSE). Kvalheim joined BSE in 1989 as an electronic service technician. In 1992, he became utility customer service representative and in 1995, Kvalheim became an account manager. In this role he was integral in coordinating five utility alliance agreements with multi-year commitments. He served as the branch manager in Sioux Falls. And most recently was the northwest region utility sales manager for BSE. In his new position Kvalheim will be located in the company’s Bismarck, N.D., location and oversee BSE branches in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming. BSE supplies products and services to construction, industrial and utility customers. The 100 percent employee-owned company is the ninth largest electrical distributor in the U.S. with nearly 1,500 employees and 55 branches in 13 states. National Preparedness Month September is National Preparedness Month. NPM was established after the events of September 11 th. Its purpose is to raise awareness about preparing for the unexpected. Emergencies and disaster can happen with little to no warning, so it important that the businesses in Dickinson are prepared. We are writing you today to help us get the word out about business preparedness. Disasters don’t just affect individuals and neighborhoods they affect the whole community. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has created the Ready campaign to help citizens prepare for emergencies. Ready Business is an extension of the Ready campaign that helps business owners of small to medium sized businesses prepare for their employees, operations and assets in the event of an emergency. Ready Business asks businesses to take three simple steps: plan to stay in business, encourage employees to be prepared as individuals and protect your investment.
