Certificate propagation and removal behavior on token insert and removal was inconsistent on pre Vista operating systems.

Resolved. We recommend that customers disable the MS functionality when using Aladdin’s propagation options on Windows versions earlier than Vista. See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925884.

Description

Solution/Workaround

Windows Vista support for EFS on-Token-certificate requires that the EFS certificate also contain a Smart Card Logon EKU (key usage).

Include the Smartcard logon EKU when creating EFS certificate templates that will be stores on token.

11613

Uninstall of PKI Client when working in a smartcard logon configuration will cause the windows session to lock.

This behavior is by design. Removal of PKI client software removes the eToken drivers therefore removing support for smartcard logon. Verify that the user can logon using alternate means before removing the PKI Client software.

11646

Launch and usage of eToken properties on windows vista requires administrator privileges. If Windows Vista UAC is enabled, you will be prompted to supply administrative consent to properly use the eToken properties functionality. Running eToken properties as non-admin is currently not supported.

Management functionality exposed in eToken properties currently relies on operating system functionality which requires administrative rights.

From the Windows Plug and Play window, browse to the device driver folder (%Windir%/System32/Setup/Aladdin/eToken) and select aksup.inf to complete the driver installation.

11671

Attempting to uninstall eToken PKI Client 4.5 on a terminal server via Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) fails as the PKIMonitor.exe process doesn’t close.

The PKIMonitor.exe should be terminated manually on the server

11579

Working with connected eToken Virtual, if you launch eToken Properties from the system tray icon menu, click the Generate OTP button, the password is not generated.

Generate OTP only via the system tray icon menu

9316

When unlocking a locked eToken the new password provided still needs to match the Password Quality rules

This is by design. Password quality rules are applied whenever the user selects a new password, including unlock scenarios.

11795

On Windows 64 bit OS, upgrade from eToken PKI Client 4.0 to eToken PKI Client 4.5 is not supported

Uninstall eToken PKI Client 4.0 product on 64 bit OS prior to installing eToken PKI 4.5

10081

Upon initialization via eToken Properties, if a random initialization key is selected, no warning message appears notifying the user about the inability to re-initialize the token in the future.

Random initialization is described in the eToken PKI Client Reference Guide.
