said it best

In any situation, you can't go wrong by putting yourself in the other person's shoes. Remember, you have a wealth of influence, and everyone you meet forms an impression of you by words and actions. So make the Golden Rule your way of life.

In 1969, Mary Kay Ash requested pink as the color of her new Cadillac, creating the model for her dream company's Career Car program. The top five Independent Sales Directors earned the use of their own Cadillac in the now iconic color. In the Philippines, the Mary Kay Pink Car which we call our Trophy in Wheels, is the Pink Honda City or Pink Toyota Altis.

It surely is an exciting time to be in Mary Kay. To help you end the first quarter with an outstanding sales performance, the Company is launching the latest addition to its growing product portfolio - the Complexion Corrector Cream Sunscreen SPF15, better known as “CC” Cream. This product is a sure winner for all of your skin care and color customers because it acts like a makeup but is formulated like a skin care product with skin benefits. I know that the CC Cream will open new opportunities for you. Be sure to share this exciting product when you conduct your skin care and color classes with your loyal as well as potential. To learn more about this wonderful product, I encourage you to attend our Product Knowledge Workshops this month. Or wear it under a foundation as a soothing, moisturizing primer to enhance the appearance of a more even-toned, refined skin.

Skin redness. Covers to provide visible relief to and minimize the appearance of skin redness. Blemishes. Instantly conceals the appearance of blemishes. It also helps fade the look of marks from past breakouts. Non-comedogenic and oil-free. Soothes and nourishes acne-prone skin.

It's the perfect skin tone corrector. I'm really excited to use and recommend this product to my customers!

- Independent Sales Director Armando Abinsay, Jr. I was worried to see that CC Cream has 2 tones darker than my complexion but after applying it at the right half of my face, I was happy to see that it gave my skin a natural look and glow. It covered the redness and blemishes with just one application. CC Cream is definitely my cream starting today!

- Independent Team Leader Cindy Sese

Just Wear It

Or Pair It

• WHY: With a formula that acts like makeup and formulated like skin care, it's the best of both worlds for easy beauty.

• WHY: To create a customized level of preferred coverage. It helps prime the skin while helping to extend and improve foundation wear, so foundation stays fresh all day.

• WHen: It's can't-miss if foundation is more coverage than you need, or if you want an easy, out-of-the-door option without that "made up" look.

• WHen: Use a light, skin-perfecting tinted base under foundation for added coverage. For glamorous occasions or when you want a more even-toned complexion.

• apply: Use fingertips to apply CC Cream to your face like foundation. Start in the middle of the face, working outward toward hairline.

• apply: Use fingertips to apply CC Cream to your face as if it were moisturizer. Wait a minute for it to absorb, then apply your choice of foundation formula.

• finish: This lightweight-coverage option provides a natural-, flawlesslooking complexion.

• finish: Customize your finish based on the foundation you choose.

Q& A

uestions: nswers:

your Target Customers: Sample SMS

Want flawless skin? Join me in a day of pampering. I'll share with you a little secret. CC your friends about it, too.

#CCMeFlawless

Your customers may be looking for different things in a CC Cream. It's up to you to help them discover their need: • Some may be looking for light complexion correction for a simple day out with their friends • Some may appreciate an easy, one-step solution to flawlesslooking skin • Another may be looking for a flawless look for a night out • Other may need it due to their seasonal needs. The SPF protection and light feel of CC Cream make it perfect for warmer months

With only two shades, how can I find my customers' shade match? CC Creams are formulated to cover a broad range of skin tones within a single shade. It blends because it is so light, so color matching is not an issue.

Will my CC Cream customers need to apply a moisturizer? If your customers have normal to dry skin, suggest they continue using a moisturizer. Others with oily skin may find the hydration in the CC Cream adequate. Remember, skin changes hormonally as well as seasonally, so they can experiment to get optimum result.

How does CC Cream fit in my customer's foundation needs? CC Creams is an add-on sale as part of your customer's foundation wardrobe. It provides a light coverage for a more natural look with minimal help to blur any problem areas.

Do you want to learn more about CC Cream? Then, we encourage you to attend MK Link's Skin Care Product Workshop this month. Refer to page 2 for schedule of classes. Registration fee is P200. Registration Deadline is one day prior to the class. Please confirm the schedule of activities with your respective Beauty Center.

Conduct Regular Skin Care Classes, Color Makeovers and Facials

There are many ways that you can market Mary Kay products. But the most tried, trusted and tested way in Mary Kay is to conduct regular skin care classes, color makeovers and facials. People love to experiment with beauty products while enjoying the company of others. Host skin care classes, color makeovers and facials that pamper your customers and brighten their day. The skin care class or color makeover sessions may have several customers attending and are ideal venues for them to learn about Mary Kay and to experience our fabulous products for themselves. Hosting a skin care class is not just a means to make money and sell products, but, more importantly, it gives you a chance to work closely with a customer to tailor your consultation to her needs. On-the-face appointments are key to building long-lasting customer relationships and the ideal place to find women who may be interested in doing what you do because they get a chance to see for themselves how easy it is to have a Mary Kay business and they have a chance to experience our great products. Skin care classes are perfect opportunities for gaining new and lasting customers that you can then turn into hostesses and potential team members.

Inviting potential team members to join your team

Delivering Exceptional Customer Service

Here are some pointers for you to consider when you invite people to join your team: enthusiastic Mary Kay Customers, loyal hostesses, people looking for extra income, people looking for another opportunity beside their current job; friendly, well-groomed women, people with positive attitude and people who ask you questions about what you do.

When it comes to your success in Mary Kay, there is no doubt that selling tops the list. So, what’s the number one factor in making great sales? It’s all about delivering exceptional customer service.

Make you sure that they attended first your skin care class or guest event. You may also invite to become your hostesses by letting them host your next skin care class. When she/he is showing signs of interest in what you are doing, then you can go to the next step. You can let that person undergo a team building interview with you. During the interview, ask that person questions on what she/he needs and on what she/he finds exciting and attractive in the Mary Kay opportunity. Share information about the Mary Kay business as well as its values and culture of enriching women's lives. All of these things can happen on the day of the class or over several days, depending on the pace of customer’s response. Your Happy Customer turned Potential Team Member then signs up with you. Make sure that your new potential team members gets great education from you and the Company and, more importantly, falls in love with Mary Kay career.

By holding skin care classes, Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants and Sales Directors can make people happy. You can actually send a woman home feeling more wonderful about herself. It really is true that if you help make a woman feel prettier on the outside, she becomes prettier on the inside, too. And when you make her feel prettier on the outside, you send her home a better wife, a better mother and a better member of the community. And all that with just that little bit of magic that’s in your showcase.

- Mary Kay Ash

If you don’t take customer service seriously, you run the risk of becoming a 'one-time' beauty advisor. Then your customers will become one-time buyers. Your goal is to build a “deep and wide” customer base providing more and more customers returning to you again for all their beauty needs - and that means they will be a “customer for life”. It is to deliver great customer service the Mary Kay way... The Golden Rule Customer Service. It all starts with making a sincere, caring impression the very first time you interact with a customer – and all that really takes is three simple steps – ask, listen, and learn. By simply asking what your customer needs, listening to her response and learning which products she truly wants, you’re sure to be on your way to customer service success and developing a strong, loyal customer base. Likewise, you must keep in regular and sincere contact with them – whether through phone calls, text messages, or emails. The more accessible you are and the more proactive you are with meeting their needs, the stronger their relationships with you will be, and with a strong relationship comes great success.

Finding customers for your business.

So, where do you find customers? The most logical place to begin is with the people you already know. Start with your ‘warm circle of influence’ your relatives and friends. Begin by making a list of every person you know. Start with a list of 30. These are potentially your first hostesses, your first unit meeting guests, and your first potential team members. When making your initial list, it’s a good idea to consider EVERYONE YOU KNOW to be your potential customer and try not to prejudge their response. Once you have a list of 30 people, do you believe each of those people might know 2 people they could introduce you to? Now your business has just tripled. Instead of a potential customer list of 30 people, you have a list of 90 potential customers – you just don’t have all of their names yet! Referrals from customers, friends and family will be the next step. Now, where can you possibly look for referrals? Ask your family and friends to help you. Or the best way to get possible new referrals is on your next skin care or color makeover session. But, you have to set appointment with your next possible customer. Booking is setting the appointment to share the product at a makeover or a skin care class – it is the key to your business. And in the skin care class, you have the opportunity to obtain sales, book additional classes and receive another set of referrals to target your next new happy customers.

Our Mary Kay career has opened the doors to rich and fulfilling lives for thousands of women. You can help pass our special way of life on to others; and in doing so, your own dreams will come true, too!

Enriching Women’s Lives

OVATION a recognition supplement to Applause® March 2014

Vol. 2 No. 3

Published monthly in recognition and inspiration for the sales force members of Mary Kay in the Philippines by Mary Kay Philippines, Inc., Makati City, Philippines.

“Everyone needs to have a dream, something beyond easy grasp. Contrary to what many people think, happiness is not the acquisition of wealth. Having been poor, I understand this way of thinking. But once you reach the point when you have enough money to cover the necessities, earning more doesn’t necessarily sustain happiness.” - Mary Kay Ash
