ie internationale Ratingagentur Standard & Poor’s (S&P) hat das Investmentgrade Rating BBB- für den börsennotierten europäischen Baukonzern STRABAG SE beibehalten. Auch der Ausblick „stable“ bleibt unverändert. S&P begründet dies mit dem gut diversifizierten und vertikal integrierten Geschäft von STRABAG, ihrem Zugang zu Rohstoffen und der angemessen hohen Liquidität des Konzerns. Gleichzeitig befinde sich STRABAG aber in einem zyklischen und wettbewerbsintensiven Markt mit hohen Projektrisiken und geringen Margen, so S&P. STRABAG habe derzeit genügend Spielraum, was die Kennzahlen für das BBB- Rating betrifft. Diesen werde das Unternehmen benötigen, sollte der stärkere Preisdruck in der Branche zu einer kurz- bis mittelfristigen Eintrübung der Ergebnisse führen.

he international rating agency Standard & Poor’s (S&P) has maintained the investment grade rating of BBB- for the publicly listed European construction group STRABAG SE. The outlook also remains unchanged at stable. Explaining its decision, S&P cited STRABAG’s well-diversified and vertically integrated business, its access to raw materials, and the group’s adequately high liquidity. At the same time, however, STRABAG finds itself in a cyclical and intensely competitive market with high project risks and low margins, S&P writes in its December update. According to S&P, STRABAG currently has sufficient room to manoeuvre regarding the key performance indicators for the BBB- rating. The company will need this manoeuvrability in case the stronger price pressure in the sector leads to a short- to medium-term deterioration of results.

Unger building plant for Austrotherm > Die Unger Steel Group und der österreichische Dämmstoffspezialist Austrotherm arbeiten gemeinsam an einem Großprojekt in Deutschland: Mit dem neuen Dämmstoffwerk in Wittenberge im Nordwesten Brandenburgs wird auf rund 114.000 m2 ein gänzlich neuer XPS Produktionsstandort innerhalb kürzester Zeit schlüsselfertig erstellt. Die Fertigstellung des Produktionswerkes ist mit Ende 2013, die Fertigstellung des Hallen- und des Verwaltungsgebäudes im Oktober anberaumt. Der Spatenstich fand am 12. Dezember 2012 in Wittenberge statt. Der österreichische Dämmstoffspezialist investiert bis zu EUR 40 Mio. in die Errichtung dieses Dämmstoffwerkes, für dessen erste Baustufe die Unger Gruppe als Generalunternehmer verantwortlich zeichnet. > The Unger Steel Group and the Austrian insulation specialist Austrotherm are working together on an ambitious large-scale project in Germany: the new insulation plant for the XPS production in Wittenberge in the northwest of Brandenburg will be completed on a 114,000m2 site within a short period of time. The completion of the production plant is scheduled for the end of 2013, the production hall and the administration building should be finished by October. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on 12 December 2012 in Wittenberge. The Austrian insulation specialist will invest up to EUR 40m in the construction of this new insulation plant. Industry demands further modernisation
> „2013 darf kein Jahr des politischen Stillstands, sondern muss ein Jahr der gesellschafts- und standortpolitischen Vernunft werden. Dies umso mehr, als wir zum Jahreswechsel auf konjunkturell unsicherem Fundament stehen“, betont der Präsident der Industriellenvereinigung (IV) Georg Kapsch. In Österreich finden heuer einige Wahlen statt. Es gelte, unbedingt Abstand von Wahlzuckerln zu nehmen, wie sie in der Vergangenheit immer wieder verteilt wurden, ergänzt IV Generalsekretär Christoph Neumayer. Die IV fordert u. a. die Vorbereitung einer budgetneutralen nach-haltigen steuerlichen Entlastung und eine Modernisierung der Steuerstruktur. > “2013 must not be a year of political stagnation, but rather a year of common sense in terms of social and location policy. All the more so, as the economic situation is uncertain at the turn of the year,” Georg Kapsch, the president of the Federation of Austrian Industries (IV), stresses. In view of several elections that are coming up in Austria this year, Christoph Neumayer, the IV’s secretary general, emphasises the importance of keeping a clear head when faced with pre-election promises such as those that have been so readily given in the past. The IV calls for a budget-neutral sustainable easing of the tax burden and a modernisation of the tax structure.
