University of Mannheim With a history that traces back to 1907, the University of Mannheim is a relatively young university by German standards. Nonetheless, this public university with nearly 12,000 students has achieved an excellent status in a short time period. Particularly in the fields of business and economics, the university has repeatedly been ranked as one of the best universities internationally . The university is comprised of five disciplines: Business, Law and Economics, Social Sciences, Humanities and Mathematics and Computer Science. Interdisciplinary research is one of the trademarks of the university, which means that economics and social sciences are closely intertwined with humanities, law, mathematics and computer science. In addition, the university participates in the German federal government's Academic Excellence Initiative, which funds the Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences (GESS). The Mannheim Business School is the umbrella organization for management education at the university. MBS offers a range of business education programs, including full-time, part-time, and executive (weekend and modular) programs. With 27 chaired professors and about 3,500 students, MBS ranks as one of the largest business schools in Europe. University of Mannheim; Schloss
