Greetings in the Mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

On behalf of the Lectureship board, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the 53nd Annual Florida State Lectureship here in Tampa, Florida. We thank each of you for taking time out of your busy schedules having traveled near and far to support this great endeavor.

The theme for this year’s lectureship “Won’t He Do It” is centered around the greatness of God and His Mighty works He has done in our lives and in the body of Christ as a whole. This lectureship will inspire you to continually be mindful that God can and will do “exceedingly and abundantly above all we ask or think”.

We thank the Bay Area Churches of Christ for their hard work and diligent efforts in planning and coordinating this Lectureship. It is our sincere hope your experience in Tampa will be memorable and spiritually rewarding.

We also thank the brothers of the Florida Lectureship Board that consists of members who are dedicated to achieving and maintaining a standard of excellence to ensure you receive a quality Lectureship experience. In addition, we work together to ensure the Florida State Lectureship continues to be a spiritually uplifting program whereby Ministers, Elders and church leaders will receive instruction on building and growing their local congregations as well as their personal ministries; and every member will receive spiritual inspiration and exhortation for the everyday challenges of life.

And after the curtains have dropped on this occasion it is our prayer that your testimony will be, “It was good for us to have been here.” Now in the words of Apostle Paul: “I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you and inheritance among all them which are sanctified” (Acts 20:32)

• Enhance and provide enjoyable and beneficial relationships and friendships with other Christians with the same beliefs rooted in the Word.

Won’t He Do It! – John 6:49-54

Welcome

As one of the chairpersons of the Florida State Lectureship, I feel honored and privileged to extend to you a warm welcome of love and fellowship to the 53rd Annual Florida State Lectureship. I can’t find the words to say just how excited we are to see this Lectureship take off; how can we not have a great time sharing with one another the great things God has done and will do in our lives.

Our theme for this year is, “Wont He Do It!” How fitting this theme is as we look back four years ago when we were all shut out and locked up and look where we are today. Celebrate with us; shout it out, “Won’t He Do It!”

We are hoping that you will be so fired up that the smell of smoke will still be on you when you get back home. Thank you for helping to equip God’s people in the Tampa Bay area; we know that your coming will be fruitful.

I’m hoping to meet a new brother or sister at this Lectureship that I will remember for the rest of my life. I want you to leave here with two things in your heart: (1) I’m glad I came, and (2) Won’t He Do It!

Won’t He Do It!

In Memory of Thelma John

Sis. Thelma John was born on November 4,1932 in Columbus Georgia. She was a sister to one and a mother of seven. She moved her family to Tampa, Florida from Daytona Beach Florida with her husband, Bro. Joseph John. Sis. John helped usher her family into the family of Christ after leaving the Baptist Church and fnding the truth. She stayed faithful making sure her children as well as all of her grandchildren found God. Many knew her as a God-fearing stern but loving sister in Christ there was never anything she would not do for anyone, and she was always someone on whom you could depend. After losing her husband in 1989, she remained unmarried but never ceased from doing the will of God. You could always expect to see her at any lectureship, fourth Sunday fellowship, Ladies Day, or church event. Sis. John was loved by many and never shied away from sharing her Faith with everyone she could. As the matriarch of the John family, Sis. Johns presence will forever be missed. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she was ushered into the arms of her Father in Heaven on Feb 14,2020 and is now dancing around the throne.

To all of our registrants, contributors, speakers, facilitators, panelists, volunteers, vendors and sponsoring churches, we thank you for your steadfast and continual support in making the 2024 Florida State Lectureship a success.
