B

eing the first day of the week, Sunday is often associated with new beginnings or fresh starts. I think it’s appropriate that we talk first about spirituality as a metaphor for Sunday because the essence of who we are originates with the spiritual, the eternal. One of the simplest, yet most profound statements in all of Scripture is: “God is love.” When I think about Diane and why I’m writing this book, I think about that love as the sun rising over the horizon on a Sunday morning. It carries on its rays divine life, love, and light to share with the world. When discussing our spirituality and who we are by nature, I’ve found it most effective to observe eternal things from three perspectives. First of all, where’s the beginning of our spirituality? is means both our earthly genesis (birth) and our conscious acknowledgment of
