In the current refugee crisis in Lebanon, having long surpassed the ‘devastating milestone’ (UNHCR) of one million Syrian refugees (2014), an assessment of the refugee shelter conditions is crucial. This is not the first time Lebanon takes in a large inflow of refugees. Currently, there are around 450,000 Palestinians living in formal and informal settlements in the country since 1948. The refugee camps and gatherings in Lebanon have been evaluated as having the worst living conditions out of all the areas where the UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) operate.
