Who is the Examining Body?
This is a one-year course designed to develop knowledge, understanding and practical skills for successful employment in the caring services or starting work in Health and Social Care. You will explore the variety of jobs that are available in the health, social care or early years sector and look at what it means to be at work in these sectors. You will also be introduced to the practical skills you will need for care work and will explore the needs of children, finding out how to care for their health and well being and contribute to their development. You are introduced to the way society views and treats different groups of people and will consider how the environment can affect the health of an individual and the community.

What can I do next? You can progress to Level 2 courses e.g. BTEC First Diploma in Caring or Level 2 Childcare courses.

What qualifications do I need to get on it? You will need 3 GCSEs Grade E or above, and one of which must be English. You should also have an interest in working in the caring services.
