SS Peter & Paul Parish Pastoral Council Minutes April 15, 2014 Present: Brendan Heffron, Tom Lupinacci, Dick Pugliese, Bob Wold, Jerry Buch, Kerry Douglass, Margie Sznajder, Tom Boler, Steve Keeley, Fr. Thomas Milota, and Kristine Lewandowski Absent: Noelle Gollinger, Tobias Schlueter, Paul Gallo I. Opening Prayer Tom Lupinacci called meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and Fr. Milota led the opening prayer. II. Approval of Minutes The minutes of the February 2014 meeting were approved with no corrections or additions on motion by Steve Keeley, seconded by Kristine Lewandowski. III. Approval of Agenda The agenda for the meeting was amended to move the Administration Commission report to the beginning of the Commission report. IV. Open Forum None. VI. Commission Reports A. Administration Tom Boler presented the first read of the Annual Budget for the parish. No recommendations were made for changes to the budget. The second reading of the budget will happen at the May meeting. B. Teen Update No update. C. New Evangelization Tom Lupinacci gave the report. The Women’s Bellarmine retreat planning has begun with Kerry Douglass as the retreat captain. The Parish Mission was well attended with average attendance around 150 in the morning and 500 in the evening. D. Worship Brendan Heffron gave the report. The music ministry is finalizing preparations for the trip to Rome.

E. Christian Service Dick Pugliese gave the report. There is a wellness screening on May 2nd. The St. Vincent de Paul society brought Easter meals to 50 households. Deacon Crowell is leading the Young at Heart club to a screening of Les Miserables on April 30th.


F. Religious Education N/A G. Parish Life The commission is looking at planning a family movie night as well as a parish picnic sometime in the summer. H. SS Peter & Paul School N/A VIII. Old Business No Old business IX. New Business Council Elections. One person gave their name for consideration for the parish council at-large position. His name is Stewart Mattson. Fr. Milota read his bio to the parish council and gave his impression of Mr. Mattson after talking with him and it was all very positive. Margie Sznajder made a motion to appoint Mr. Mattson to the council, it was seconded by Jerry Buch and unanimously approved by the council. X. President’s Report No President’s Report XI. Pastor’s Comments Fr. Milota talked about the upcoming Triduum schedule. There will be no third Mass in the Social hall this year. There will be two 12:30pm Masses on Easter Sunday. Extra seating capacity will be added to the Chapel giving it a seating capacity of about 700. There will be maintenance performed on the Ministry Center and church over the next couple of months. This includes tuck pointing on the ministry center, heating, tuck pointing, interior work, and roof work on the church. The Little Sisters of the Poor will be here to talk to the parish the weekend of May 17th-18th. The Choir is finalizing preparation for the trip to Rome. It includes performances in the Pantheon and Basilica of St. Peter. XII. Closing Prayer Closing prayer was led by Fr. Milota. XIII. Adjournment The meeting was adjourned at 8:20pm. Next meeting is scheduled for May 21, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
