HARVEST SUNDAY 2013 As soon-to-be confirmed Catholic Christians, you are called to serve others. We have an opportunity in a special way to perform a corporal work of mercy in this hands-on activity that will directly contribute to the needs of our community. This is a mandatory event for all students scheduled to be confirmed in the 2013/2014 school year (Confirmation II students). These students must participate in at least one of the following: Flyer Distribution: September 29, 2013 - Time and duration (typically two hours or less) will vary depending on each group. It is possible that additional alternate days may be available. Food Pickup: Sunday, October 6 starting at 1:30 PM â€“ Pick up should take only a couple of hours. Students are encouraged to sign up for both activities. Those students will receive additional credit for service. Please note that there will be a limit to the number of individuals that can be assigned for each portion to ensure that both events are appropriately covered. (There cannot have 65 people who want to drop off flyers and only 10 who are willing to collect food and vice versa.) Sorting and boxing of food will be coordinated by Christian Service with an opportunity for involvement by the parish at large. Confirmation II students cannot use sorting/boxing to fulfill this requirement; if a student is available to sort and box, he/she is available to collect food. We will need parent volunteers to make this a success. Please consider helping with driving.
