We are thrilled to host Keynsham Winter Festival on a Saturday this year, giving visitors to the event even more time to visit all their Festival favourites - from market stalls, to food vendors, to local bands, Santa’s Grotto, street entertainment... and much, much more! We’ve been waiting all year for this and we can’t wait to kick off the Festive season with you - we hope you have yourELF a very, merry time.

We have two stages this year bringing you dance performances, local bands and solo singers. Make sure to check them both out!

Main Stage

You can find the Main Stage on the High Street outside the Methodist Church

Memorial Baubles

Memorial Baubles will be on display on the Memorial Bauble Christmas Tree in Keynsham Library throughout the Festive season We hope this gives residents a way to honour those that are no longer with us this holiday season Inside the Library The baubles can be found:

Victoria Methodist Church

Visit market stalls and enjoy hot drinks and refreshments. Collect a Tinsel Trail card for a chance to win a new laptop from Smart Computers (see page 15 for more details ) or swap your Christmas Jumper.

Baptist Church

Local art group ArtSpace will be hosting an exhibition - come check out their amazing work While you’re here, browse the many market stalls in the Church Hall.

High Street

Visit the Main Stage, enjoy hot chestnuts, be delighted by our street entertainment, shop our High Street shops and enjoy the restaurants.

Don’t miss the chance to meet Avon & Somerset Fire Brigade and explore their fire truck.

Market Walk

Enjoy the Fun Fair with all the classics like the Helter Skelter, Hooka-Duck and much more! Market stalls will line the side of the library including the Town Council’s Christmas Tree giveaway.

Library

Head to the second floor of the library and enjoy FREE face painting - two face painters will be available to bring festive cheer to all. While you’re there, visit the market stalls in The Space. 1pm & 3pm: Punch and Judy shows (35-40 mins each).

Temple Street

Browse the local market stalls, enjoy the food vendors and take a pop in to the shops along Temple Street. Don’t miss internationally acclaimed concert pianist, Nurry Lee playing on the Community Piano at 1pm. Don’t forget to visit Choir Corner (full programme on page 4)

Keynsham Leisure Centre

Enter the ‘activity hub’ of the Festival with a Christmas craft workshop, toy tombola, hair braiding and a free photo booth. Soft play will also be open so you can let the little ones run wild.

Riverside Square

The Grotto is back! Come meet Father Christmas and share your wish list. Visit the local market stalls or enjoy a quiet place to eat.

The Snowball Fun Zone will be back at the MakeSpace for under 11s to take aim at targets and practice throwing soft snowballs.

Grab a FREE Christmas tree

Keynsham Town Council Environment and Sustainability Committee is giving away 50 free small Christmas trees at the Winter Festival. The trees come in pots so they can be re-used yearon-year. The trees go quickly so if you want one, don’t delay in picking one up

Internationally acclaimed concert pianist, Nurry Lee will return to Keynsham to delight fans with her incredible musical talent. Nurry has performed all across Europe, USA, U.K., Asia and West Africa. She has played on BBC Radio 3 with her

piano trio, Trio Rouge She has toured internationally from Seoul, South Korea, Amsterdam, Hungary, Portugal, Italy, USA, Dubai, Singapore, U.K. and has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York to a sold out audience on three occasions. Earlier this year, Nurry Lee played at The Space and is very excited to come back to Keynsham.

Nurry will launch a new Keynsham Town Council programme - the Community Piano Project. More to come on this exciting new creative initiative! You can find Nurry at 1pm on Temple Street.

ShuttleService

Once again, Dial-a-Ride will be operating a free shuttle service throughout the Festival. If you require a wheelchair space, these are limited, so please call in advance to pre-book (P: 01225 395321).

The free shuttle service will operate a circular route aiming to pickup from each stop every 20 minutes Every effort will be made to keep to the schedule, but delays on the day may occur.

Two shuttle buses will run throughout the day of the Festival Both shuttles will begin their route at 12:10pm from Hurn Lane and the Ellsbridge House Bus Stop (on Bath Road) and drive a circular route to Ashton Way and then return Shuttles will run every 20 minutes.

Please note, the last shuttles will depart from Ashton Way at 7:20pm.

Twelve cheeky elves have escaped from Santa’s grotto and are causing mischief along the High Street, Market Walk and Temple Street Can you find them all in the shop windows before they get into too much trouble?

Seek out the elves in town and collect a letter from each one Once you have them all, put o your puzzle-solving hat to unscramble the let and unveil a festive phrase to be in with a chance of winning a prize Don’t forget to ask the shop to stamp your Trail with their special Christmas Stamp

Collect a trail map from Keynsham Town Council offices or Keynsham Library.

Running Friday 15th November - Sunday 15th December.

Fancy winning a brand

Head to the Methodist Church on the day of the Winter Festival to collect your Tinsel Trail card. Follow the Tinsel Trail through the Festival and fill in the trail card with your answers to the trail quiz questions. Once you’ve filled in the card, drop it off at the Keynsham Leisure Centre collection box and you’re in with a chance to win! The winner will be announced the week after the Winter Festival.

The Tinsel Trail is only happening during the Winter Festival and there are a limited number of trail cards. The Tinsel Trail is open to those 18 years and older. Terms and Conditions apply - please see the Keynsham Town Council website for all the details
