FEEL THE

SOUND!

2017–2018 CONCERT SEASON

WELCOME TO THE TH 37 SEASON OF DENVER BRASS WE’RE MORE EXCITED THAN EVER for this coming year as we explore new and innovative repertoire, launch a brand new look, welcome back our amazing jazz trumpeter Alan Hood, and invite our former principal trumpeter Joe Docksey to take up the magical conductor’s baton for our season premiere. We’re on a mission to capture the attention and love of a whole new generation of listeners, while at the same time continuing to thrill our longtime fans with creativity and inspirational moments. We’ve commissioned innovative new pieces, are producing new recordings and videos, and can’t wait to share our new creations with you. As always, you are our inspiration for everything we do. We sincerely hope to see you at all of our shows!

OUR MISSION is to bring high quality brass music to diverse and expanding audiences through captivating performances and world class recordings of both classic and cutting edge brass repertoire. We want to make a difference by sharing the depth and breadth of emotion that brass music brings to life — from inspiration & joy to discovery & tears. This music is our passion, and presenting it to you is our purpose.

EDUCATIONAL & OUTREACH PROGRAMS

WE BELIEVE MUSIC CAN CHANGE LIVES and the joy of live music should be accessible to all communities. Through partnerships with local philanthropic groups, we provide over $20,000 in outreach tickets and performances to underserved communities each year. These programs benefit seniors, lowincome families, Alzheimer’s and cancer patients, and a variety of special needs groups. We also partner with local schools and children’s organizations to introduce the thrill of live music to children of all ages through educational events and our Brassical Adventures concert series.
