Elm Fork Explorers Summer Camp
"Think BIG, Believe BIG, Act BIG, And the Results will be, BIG."
2019-2020 Every summer UNT holds an educational science camp in the Environmental Science building on the corner of Hickory St. and Avenue C on UNT campus. The camp lasts for a total of five weeks, but each week different half-day sessions are held. Grade levels are separated; 2nd-4th, 3rd-5th, 6th-8th. The camp hires volunteers to work as Junior Counselors, to work along side the head counselors for those weeks. This opportunity allows people to gain leadership skills and experience, along with volunteer hours. Shout out to the DHS students that worked as Jc's for those few weeks!
"You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving." Kung Fu Tea Fundraiser JUNE 21, 2019 On June 21st Denton High School teamed up with Kung Fu Tea at their Rayzor Ranch Location, in Denton, Texas. Kung Fu Tea partners with local groups and organizations to raise money. Students of Denton high school came to the fundraiser and enjoyed bubble tea with their friends and family. Plus, the members of the key club got one service hour if they sent a photo of themselves and their drink to one of the clubs board members. We had a lot of people show up to support our club and are glad to see people are having a great summer!
"Only a life lived for others is worth living." Denton Public Summer Reading Program
2019-2020 Every summer the Denton Public Library sets up a summer reading challenge for kids of all ages to encourage reading, Taking the Summer Reading Challenge gives the kids an opportunity to win a free book and be entered into a prize drawing for your age group. Children under 17 who complete the challenge will also be invited to a special Water Works Park Party. Some of our Key Club members worked as volunteers behind the counter at the library receiving and handing out the Summer Reading Challenges. If you personally want to sign up, the sign up is May 24 through July 23 at any Denton Public Library location or online at the library home page.
Mobile Food Pantry SECOND SAT OF EVERY MONTH Denton High Schools Key Club had some members volunteer at the Denton Mobile Food Pantry.
