ASSISTANT COACH JUSTIN MECCAGE

Justin Meccage Assistant Coach Justin Meccage joined the ASU coaching staff in August 2007 and will serve as the pitching coach for the Red Wolves in 2010. In his two seasons at Arkansas State, Meccage has assembled pitching staffs that finished in the upper half of the conference rankings in team ERA. Twelve of his pitchers at ASU have gone on to sign professional contracts, and one has earned All-Sun Belt Conference recognition. Members of his pitching staff have earned Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week recognition four times of the last two seasons. Meccage came to Arkansas State from Texas-Pan American, where he served as an assistant coach, recruiting coordinator and pitching coach since 2004. During his time at UT-Pan American, Meccage developed a pitching staff that had nine players sign professional contracts. In 2006, his Bronc pitching staff ended the season ranked in the top-10 nationally with 427 strikeouts. He is a graduate of Oklahoma State University, where he pitched for the Cowboys before being drafted by the New York Yankees in the 32nd round of the 2002 Major League Baseball Draft. While at Oklahoma State, Meccage was also named Academic All-Big 12 and to the OSU Dean’s List. He is married to the former Stacee Voytoski, who teaches in the Nettleton School District. They have a son, Kyler Lee, born August 1, 2008.
