Designing for NET-A-PORTER

Net - A - Porter is an ecommerce website that distributes high-end designer fashion as well as skin and beauty products. The website was founded in 2000 with the concept of an online magazine where consumers were able to readily click and purchase products. By embodying the idea of an online magazine this new space is architecturally branded by elements of PORTER magazine.

Using the concept of a magazine in a physical space, this store will bridge the brand and magazine by mimicking the idea of flipping pages, use of bold contrasting color, and large text.

INTERCESSION

This project used the narrative of this poem to help design this space. By using the concept of intercession as a barrier between two spaces of elements, this space also speaks back to the poem, the barriers and challenges that a disease does to the body.

Too late here perhaps for some intercession the physician Speaks to his screen instead to the all of you it has Become his words not imagined now but real and Your sorrow is ecstatic something You do not feel You hear your own voice at a distance In the abelia bush Outside at home a voiceless God Flames there late bees
