QUALITY OF LIFE IN CORAL AND AQUAMARINE Fashion duo Traudl and Sandra Männer swathe Mallorca in cashmere and fur. The designs, made in Italy, are comfortable to wear and come in a range of colours. his is what style is really all about: glamour without pomp, elegance without glitter, chic without frills. Instead, fine fabrics, sophisticated cut, co-ordinated colour schemes and a quality that combines taste, trend and comfort. Anyone familiar with the creations of the young designer Sandra Männer, knows about the prospects of combining fabrics which compete but yet relate to one another. For example, cashmere and fur – here a dialogue in beige, lilac and royal blue (as reported in LE DELUXE Winter edition 2011/2012). The collection, available in Mallorca from Billy´s Fashiongroup in Port d´Andratx, owned by Heidi Lübke, steals the show thanks to the innovative ideas and traditional expertise of Traudl Männer and her daughter. Traudl Männer trained with Rudolph Mooshammer. As the ‘right-hand woman’ of the Munich fashion guru and later as manager of

Emilio Pucci at the Bayerischer Hof, she was at the forefront of the fashion world in the seventies and eighties. After that she designed her first collection of knitwear under the label ‘Sandy’ – named after her daughter. From 1982 onwards, ‘Sandy Tricots de Luxe’ produced collections in angora, made on hand-knitting machines. Ten years later cashmere came in, too. Production was moved to Italy, the home of fashion, and from then onwards the label traded under the name ‘Sandini Cashmere’. In 2011 daughter Sandra joined the company – as designer and partner. A talented young woman, she trained at the Academy of Fashion and Design in Munich and gained experienced working for Escada in the Bavarian capital and for TMS Fashion in Beijing. As a trainee at Alexander McQueen, she designed some details of his collection – it was “hard work and a seven-day week,” she recalls. What the up and coming designer now brings to the collection is a quite fresh impetus in fabrics, cut and colour. Her first Autumn-

Winter 2012/2013 collection introduces fitted, sometimes asymmetrical cuts and completely new colours such as coral and aquamarine – creations which are highly prized on the Island, and not only for the cool winter months. “Customers in Mallorca have a very strong feeling for colour,” says Sandra Männer, “and they are particularly fashion-conscious.” Sandini uses only the best quality cashmere fibres. The fine yarn, which comes from the combed-out undercoat of the Cashmere goat, guarantees a wool of the highest quality that is also a by-word for comfort. Nevertheless, company philosophy is characterised by the conviction that a particular kind of refinement is only to be achieved through the interplay of cashmere and real fur - such as fox. Here, classic and modern elegance fit together harmoniously under the paradigm, “Cashmere is quality of life”. Translation: Celia Moody See the label online at: www.sandini-cashmere.de
