I. Dear This letter is an expression of my interest in the Staff Radiologic Technologist position at Mercy Hospital of Buffalo, listed on the Catholic Health System job opportunities page on May 23, 2012 (Req Number: 40055). I am currently a student in the Radiologic Technologist program at Niagara County Community College (NCCC). I have completed all coursework, will receive my diploma at the conclusion of my current clinical rotation in August, and I will receive my temporary radiographer license on July 3; I am currently attending private tutoring sessions in order to pass the ARRT Registry Examination during the last week of July, 2012. I do not anticipate having to retake the registry exam, as I am a devoted health services professional and strive to do my very best at all times in my career and life. During my two years at NCCC, I obtained clinical experience in four different imaging departments. While at these facilities I learned to successfully complete radiographic examinations of the extremities, skull, face, and trunk of the body. During this onsite training I also completed many fluoroscopic exams, including but not limited to UGI studies, esophagrams, barium enemas, and SBFTs. I also was fortunate enough to have clinical rotations through the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) department at the Dent Neurologic Institute, and a rotation in Computed Tomography (CT) at Spectrum Radiology Associates, PLLC. I am a very compassionate, detail-oriented and organized individual; I am a self-starter who is great at time management and I work well without supervision. I believe that the knowledge I have acquired at NCCC and at my various clinical sites allows me to deliver exceptional patient care by putting people at ease during procedures, answering their questions and supplying radiologists with diagnostically sound radiographs accompanied by a detailed patient history. I have experience in learning and following site-specific patient care protocols; in setting the proper radiographic technique according to variable factors; in positioning patients according to the recommended guidelines and making adjustments when necessary; image manipulation; data entry and record keeping. I have a great work ethic and am punctual (always early) by nature, and I am attentive to detail and want to help others. For all of these reasons, I believe that I am a great candidate for this position. I also have a passion for learning and bettering myself in all that I do. I believe that my attributes will help me to be a successful, skilled radiographer. I would love the opportunity to put them to use in your imaging services department. I hope to hear from you in the near future to arrange for an interview where we can discuss further my qualifications. Thank you for considering me as a candidate for this wonderful opportunity to further my career. Sincerely,
