001 THE SHOWROOM 002 THE SHRINK WRAP 003 HIDE AND SEEK
001 THE SHOWROOM Exhibition for cars Los Angeles, CA
001 : the showroom The objective of the showroom project is to create a car showroom that relates to the site context. After analyzing the site, I believe the car showroom should be a threshold between the work/living and the entertainment. I chose Bugatti Veyron as the car brand because of its history and type of car. All four corners of the intersection have advertisement so I believe the car showroom’s entrance should have digital advertisements or LCD lights to capture customers’ attention and create an adrenaline rush when entering the showroom and museum. PAST PRESENT
OPEN UP TO LA
Because of Bugatti Veyron’s rich history of racecars and bicycles, I want people to travel through time. If you are parking or walking from the streets, you are in the present. You are able to observe the making of the cars. Then, you make your way to the past. Lastly, you enter the future and decide what type of car you want to be made.

002 THE SHRINK WRAP School of Performing Arts Echo Park, Los Angeles, CA
002 : the shrink wrap
Because our site was at the intersection of Glendale Ave and Sunset Boulevard, I believed that designing a Performing Arts School and Center should include a triple-time program. In the morning, parents can take yoga classes before work and after dropping-off their children. In the afternoon, after school, children can take yoga classes in addition to dance classes. The space transforms into a lounge for happy hour and open-mic nights during the evening. There is a change in the atmosphere because of lighting and music.

003 HIDE AND SEEK
Renovation of Upper Rheinweg Basel, Switzerland
003 : hide and seek
The designated site is a very popular area for swimming. Every summer, there is a swimming race with contestants from all over Basel. The site is very integrated with nature. Pathways lead to changing rooms and a lifeguard tower. Then, more pathways lead to the beach and the promenade. Because the site is linear, I decided to emphasize on the horizonticality to bridge the ferry port to the street based on linear extenstions to the building with the landscape. From the street to the river, people’s CIRCULATION becomes more REVEALED as they make their way to the river; on the other hand, the PROGRAM AND BUILDING becomes more HIDDEN.
