I have assembled a 12-month calendar for Event and Cause Marketing. These dates have been chosen to give you many marketing ideas. In no way are these ideas and dates comprehensive; there are many more made-up holidays to use. You just need to find the right one for you business.
What Independent Businesses Must Learn As independent business people, we can react quicker than the big, slow-moving elephants around us, so always be looking for LOCAL Events and Causes you can quickly act on. There are several around you, from the more known causes like Susan G. Komen For the Cure and Toys For Tots, to more personal tragedies, such as a local house fire the week before Christmas, or the neighborhood child who is tragically diagnosed with cancer (which correlates to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, one of my favorites). You must begin to view all of these opportunities to help others as a way to also help your business.
Why Utilize Event Or Cause Marketing? As I stated in the No B.S. Guide To Marketing To Leading Edge Boomers and Seniors, this is the #1 way to create a surge of cash into your business.
