obstacles and opportunities of the New Year. At the onset of the year 2011, our Lord gave us a vision of victory for the year. In pursuit of that vision, we adopted the motto “ ”, as our clarion call. Now that 2011 has ended and 2012 has begun, it is important to look back and count the blessings that God has wrought in our lives, not only as individuals, but also as families and as a church.
Beloved, As we begin the year 2012, let me wish you all a Happy New Year. It is my prayer that the blessings of God will be abundant in your life, and that you, in turn, will testify of His goodness and give Him the praise and adoration that is due Him through out the year. I remain ever grateful to the editorial staff for their sacrificial work and pray that God will reward and elevate them according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus.
From the standpoint of our church, let us thank God for blessing us in the areas of mission and evangelism. By His grace, we adopted and served the residents of Rosemont apartments and shared the love of God with them through our outreach programs. Each time, we participated in great number and blessed them practically and spiritually. We also broadcast the gospel to countless numbers through the radio, Facebook, YouTube and our church website. All of these were only possible because of the goodness of God.
Without His presence and power, our worship services would have been vain, but by His grace, they were spiritual and uplifting, and brought refreshment to our souls. Let us thank Him for causing us to be at peace and for frustrating all the enemy’s plans to divide us. Whenever the enemy reared his head, the Lord increased His grace, and we ought to thank Him for that. Most importantly, let us thank God for every person who chose to make our church their home in 2011.
Last but not least, let us thank God for His financial blessings. In spite of a difficult economy in 2011, we continued to give so that the work of the church was not interrupted. By the special grace of God, our plans to expand our facilities are ongoing and the physical manifestations of His blessing will soon become evident.
As we reflect on the blessings of God in 2011, let us be inspired and strengthened in .
Let us also thank God for His blessings in the area of discipleship. Let us thank Him for our Leadership Development Training (LDT) program, with which He continues to bless our leaders and position them to serve His church better. Let us thank Him for the growth of attendance in our midweek bible study and for all the people who continue to put Him first and invest their time in the study of His Word. Let us thank Him for our Marriage Enrichment Institute which was so successful that it is full every time it held!!
As I consider the great privilege that I have been given as pastor of this local church, I cannot help but thank God for His manifold blessings in my life and in our church. I thank Him for the privilege of writing to you once again in this 8th edition of , and pray that you will join me in reflecting on the goodness of God in 2011 and be Let us thank God for His blessings in the strengthened in your faith as we face the areas of worship and fellowship as well.
our faith in 2012. Our motto for the New Year is “ ”. The vision is that in 2012, we will build not only a place but a people for the service of our God. It will profit us nothing if we build a building but fail to grow as a people, so that we can serve the Lord in spirit and in truth in the new building. Let me challenge you to do all you can to support our efforts to build a place that is worthy of our great God in 2012. If you have made a pledge to the building fund, exercise your faith in making payments toward it. If you have not made a pledge, make one by faith. Every time you are in the church, look at the empty field behind the sanctuary and see, with the eyes of faith, the new place that to glorify your God!! However, let me also challenge you to do all you can to support our efforts to build a people worthy of our great God. To this end, let me challenge you to exercise faith with regard to your own spiritual growth. Whatever it is that hindered you in prayer and study
of the Word of God in 2011, believe that you can overcome them and take action to do so. Make time to pray and study the Word of God personally and corporately, taking advantage of the numerous opportunities that your church offers. It will bless you and build you up to serve Him better.
As the slogan goes ” a mind is a terrible thing to waste”. We, men of our church and homes must never underestimate the power of hands-on teaching of our young men on our day to day challenges and the Godly ways we deal with them. When a father makes a decision regarding a situation, if the outcome is favorable or not, I believe you will have learned in hindsight, correct? Wouldn't that be an opportunity of teaching for the next leader of your homes and our church? Giving the fact that the world is revolving, there is a good chance of them experiencing such situation in the future, therefore, the experience learned from you will pose the situation as an opportunity or challenge for them. Let’s prepare them to spot trends and seize opportunities at an early age. Believe me, they are smarter and resilient more than we can comprehend. God is an amazing provider, He has blessed each and every one of us with an incredible gift, and some are obvious while some takes forever to identify. Giving these facts, we must begin to create a platform for our young men to succeed by teaching some simple rule for success. I will emphasis on some key principles on training them to attain the desired outcome.
3. We should teach our young men the great gift of freedom to speak up and ask for direction or advise. Moreover, the bible tells us in Matthew 7:7 Ask and it shall be given you, seek, and ye shall find, knock, and it shall be open unto you. We must encourage our young men to be bold and speak up and ask questions, the reality in the business world is, you must ask for some important things before it is given to you, even if it’s your entitlement. We should engage them in our current affairs and dialogue as an opportunity for teaching. Whether we like it or not, our young men will find answers to their questions; my hope is that they come to you for answers. It is also possible that our youth today will be leading the economy within the next 2 decades. It is imperative for our church/community to have impacted our young men and develop outstanding leaders from this generation in order to have a sustainable future.
Finally, always remember to count your blessings and name them one by one. It will not only surprise you what the Lord has done, it will surprise you what the Lord will do!!
Love, Pastor Effiom
4. Finally, let’s celebrate our young men and encourage their creativity. Teach and continually educate them on the cost and effect of good and bad decisions. If you are like me, I have told several stories to my children about decisions I have made and the consequences as they have shaped my life today. In conclusion, I 1. We should teach our young men that real wisdom and wealth pray our young men will develop the habit of taking personal comes from attaining knowledge. (a) Seriously committing to responsibility for decisions and create results; after all, they are the learning the word of God and being equipped with His wisdom is leaders in the making. May God bless you. essential as they will be leaving our homes and moving into a world full of temptations and peer pressure. Romans 12:2 says “and be not Bro. Kola Thorpe be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”. As fathers and leaders of our homes, we have a duty to reduce the impact of peer pressure by maintaining close family relationships and delaying independence from home. (b) We should teach them the ability to defer gratification and obtain a good education in lucrative industry, they must remain focused now while their friends maybe playing around or taking on simple courses, they should know that their sacrifice now is going to earn their play time in the future, by first pursuing and attaining a goal of acquiring wisdom and education as the tarmac to succeed on this planet earth.. Then, they can get good jobs to support their family and play for a long time afterward. Otherwise, they will play now and work hard for the rest of their life. I believe the choice is clear. 2. We should teach our young men the importance of service/ investing in their church/community. The world becomes a better place when we support one another because some day our church/ community will support us. Let’s get them involved in service and nurture their self esteem and reinforce the high standards of expectation as a child of God. UCF page 2
Text Matthew 4: 1-11 INTRODUCTION: Apostle Paul wrote the following to his protégé Timothy. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. (2 Tim. 2:3-4). The well known Christian Hymn (Hymn 493) written by Sabine Gould around 1900 goes, thus: Onward Christian Soldiers matching as to war……..Christ the Royal Master leads against the foe. (Your Foe is your enemy). We have a persistent and formidable foe so we must always be prepared for battle, Because our enemy is unrelenting. Christians, When we are going to battle, any battle, you must: (1). Know your opponent (2). Know where your opponent is.

SATAN USES: (3). THE GREED IN US.Christ’s Way of being Yahweh–Holy God, defeats Satan’s temptation with Greed.
--Where is Satan: Satan is a spirit—We do not wrestle against flesh and blood…..(Eph. 6:12). --How does satan operate?: Be sober, be vigilant because satan, your adversary (enemy) moves around like a roaring lion seeking whom to devour (kill)(1 Pet. 5:8). ----What types of weapons does satan use? I’m glad you asked. The weapons are designed to steal, kill, and destroy. Christ taught in John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. Satan’s modus operandi (Method of operation) is akin to a weapon which has been popularized in modern warfare because it is cheap, flexible, and can unleash mayhem on any opponent. That weapon is popular with Al Queda and Taliban. It is called RPG. RPG---Rocket Propelled Grenade A rocket is a missile, spacecraft, aircraft or other vehicle which obtains thrust from a rocket engine. In all rockets, the exhaust is formed entirely from propellants carried within the rocket before use. Rocket engines work by action and reaction. Rocket engines push rockets forwards simply by throwing their exhaust backwards extremely fast. What is a grenade: A hand grenade is any small bomb that can be thrown by hand. Hand grenades are classified into three categories, explosive grenades, chemical and gas grenades. Explosive grenades are the most commonly used in modern warfare, and are designed to detonate after impact or after a set amount of time. Chemical and gas grenades are designed not to explode, but to burn or release a gas. In the past, soldiers usually threw grenades by hand (hand grenade) after pulling out the trigger with the teeth. When you throw a grenade by hand, it destroys a small area— radius of destruction, depending on your physical strength.
THE MAIN MESSAGE: According to Jesus Christ, SATAN has come to steal, kill, and destroy and those are analogically similar to an RPG in action. Christ’s statement is right based on Him being Christ. Additionally, Christ also has Experienced Satan’s RPG. Christ knows Satan from Experience. We will See How Christ’s Way Defeated Satan’s Firepower. Grandpa's wall clock had for years been doing his job, ticking away diligently and faithfully second after second. One day 'he' began to imagine how many ticks he had to make in one year, and he became very worried and unable to eat or drink. He could think of nothing else and even began to skip ticks. The old reliable got very anxious and consequently suffered a nervous breakdown. He was rushed to the doctor. The doctor discovered that his problem was anxiety related and asked what he was possibly worried about. The good old wall clock confessed that he had suddenly realized that he had to make 31,536,000( 60x60x24x365) ticks in one year, and he was afraid he could not tick that much. Here is further conversation between doctor and patient: DOCTOR : Ok, Mr Wall Clock, so how many ticks can you make? GRANDPA'S WALL CLOCK (Patient) : I am very sorry doctor, I can only make one tick every second. DOCTOR : Ok, my friend I would like to advise that you make just that one tick every second, and I can assure you that before you realize it, you would have made 31,536,000 ticks. THE PREACHER : Children of God ought to rely on HIS faithfulness and live one day at a time. THE WORD OF GOD : Matthew 6 : 25-34; " Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put... Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." Pilippians 4 : 6-7; " Be anxious about nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus". Thank you, and I wish you all the best of this season
The word of God tells us that we should train our children in the way they should go and when they grow up they will not depart from it (Proverb 26:6). This text is telling us that God gave us children as parents to be caregivers, to love and train them in His way and if we obey this command we can be rest assured that when they are grown they will not depart from these Godly ways. I f you look around our community today, you will notice that most parents spend most of their time and energy hunting and chasing after things selfishly. We find ourselves seeking after "wants" and not "needs", trying to covert what "A" and Mr Z's got not knowing how and what they did to get what they have and inevitably forgetting this Godly command and responsibility of raising our children in His way We end up neglecting our homes, husbands, wives and most of all our children. The fundamental fact we forget is that, although the world might measure us by the perishables and temporary things we have, but God (our ultimate judge) has a very different set of measuring standards. He will not measure us by how many cars, houses, jewelry we have but by our work according to His will and His word. And He will definitely measure us by what we did with one of the most important gift and responsibilities, the care and raising of our children. Work with the Lord, pay your tithes and spend time to impact the fear and way of the Lord in your children and see how much peace and abundance of blessings will be yours. He is faithful try him today, may our children not be like Eli's IJN. Amen By Mrs Shade Asekun UCF page 4
The art of Christian worship is a major reason why God elected us in Christ Jesus in eternity past. Since worship is based on knowledge, it is disheartening that the average Christian knows next to nothing on what constitute a true worship. And sincerely distorts this wonderful means of expressing personal love for God. In their narrow perspective of worship they fail to realize that it is not all about inspiring songs amidst loud vibration of musical instruments. This superficial understanding has robbed worship its true meaning and significance. On the other hand believers who are being enlightened by the word of God sense that worship includes music and other elements. To this later group worship is habitually and holistically a lifestyle. By the grace of God we would be examining four principles of a true worship experience. First, worship is not a physical posture. Overt expression in worship service could be personality influenced, other factors such as health condition and mood could also affect ones emotion. It is doctrinally wrong to view worship from a viewpoint that is heavily influenced by a physical expression. Nowadays the person who dances better than others catches the attention of both the worshippers and the video camera. And those who raise their hands as a gesture of surrender or some other outward shows are also viewed more spiritual. Yes, all these have their rightful place in a worship experience. Surely they cannot impress God with their dancing styles, or façade of religiosity. Any worship experience devoid of in dept understanding is like cloud without rain, and ritual without reality. Miriam and Exodus generation were so excited about their miraculous deliverance, and they raised praises to God. The next moment, when their superficiality was tested by water scarcity they grumbled against God. Regardless, we still carry the garbage of thoughts and ideas of our sin nature. Consequently, our worship experience would be an outward show if we fail to orient to the principle and practice of the renovation complex of the soul. The Bible says in Romans 12:2;
. In post salvation Christian journey the word of God commands that our souls must experience the discipline process of spiritual metabolism. During this exercise, the Holy Spirit would begin to mark new tracts in our hearts. This is necessary if we ever desire to think and act godly. In the above verse the word conformed is ( in Greek. This word is in the present imperative; and implies that the Roman believers must stop their superficial, external or cosmetics worship. False doctrines are a serious threat to a healthy spiritual life. The Roman believers were still thinking and acting like mere men. They laid so much emphasis on external shows and postures. Over emphasis on self is a stake evidence of inordinate worship. Their spiritual condition is not different from what we see today in the body of Christ. a conjunction of contrast commands Christians to be transformed (Gk. ) This word also is in the present imperative, it is a command to continually undergo the process of internal change of the earthly mindset. This inner transformation of the soul that leads to an acceptable act of worship is in contrast to the false practice by the Roman believers. The word renewing (Gk. ) means receiving something qualitatively new; signifying also that through the system of grace perception and application of sound doctrines the believers receive what eyes have never seen, the thinking of Christ. True change starts from inside and reflects on the outside.
and a consistent system of thinking. If this is present in a Christian he might be capable enough to practice more accurately a spiritual worship and obey the will of God. For example, a consistent system of divine perspective is what God saw in the life of king David that motivated God to call him a man after His own heart. David spent quality time meditating on doctrines taught him by the priests in his days. Even though he was skilled in music, the beauty of his physical posture was his spiritual virtue. Like David each believer must utilize whatever skill, job and career he has to praise God. Don’t forget, every believer is in full Christian service, occupy till I come, says the Lord. This brief in dept analysis of the above verse could inspire our insight on how spiritual phenomenon develops in a believer who is walking in the light. Consequently, this smart Christian would exercise objective divine judgment and self-control in his modus vivendi. He would refuse to see things from its mere external appearance. The mood of a fellow Christian would no longer be his yardstick on true worship. In addition, neither musical instrument nor dancing or any other human factors would persuade him to form any erroneous opinion. Biblical praise is quite different from what the contemporary Christian society regard as praise. The Scripture says that as a man thinks in his heart so he is, and not as a man dances. The irony of it all is that dance itself can be deceptive. Further, New Testament epistles describe emotion as emptiness, and view emotion as a responder and not the initiator. To appreciate nice music, doctrinal understanding of a song must be the initiator of a true worship. Therefore, if your thinking is divinely motivated it is as a result of a process of ‘ ’ in your heart. This state is what initiates a worship experience that is acceptable to divine essence. It could usher in manifold breakthroughs against any human or satanic stronghold. Ask King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah, they worshipped with understanding and the right mental attitude, 2 Chro.20: 5-25. This passage of the word of God teaches us that true worship experience can generate power to overcome stubborn obstacles in life such as fear, worry, anxiety, bitterness, anger and envy, etc. That if we are willing and obedient in spite of the situation we will experience first hand deliverance, and live a victorious Christian life.. Second, worship is receiving something from God. From the Scripture we know that the highest form of worship is learning the word of God. According to Psalms 138:2; God has exalted His word above His titles. This means that you cannot worship God beyond the knowledge of him. It calls into question the common claim by believers about how they love God. But how many hours do they spend in a week studying the word of God, shock awaits any who dare ask. Such attitude is self –delusional, and is a sign of suffering from spiritual lukewarm. Such ones are like seed sown on thorn; the care of this world distracts them from pursuing the spiritual higher ground. The essence of God teaches us that God is Omniscient. As an Infinite being He knows those who really are worshipping him by means of Bible doctrine under the ministry of God the Holy Spirit. You see, the Holy Spirit uses metabolized doctrine as the raw material to manufacture true worship. This is only what is acceptable to the integrity God. Only God can satisfy His own divine demand from us. He only looks for a vessel He could use to glorify Himself. Therefore, God is being praised when a believer is learning and applying truth to his or her own worship experience.
Third, worship is saying something to God. One of the The mind (Gk ) is the staging area of mental worst neglected Christian mandates is communicating to God in perception. Through inculcation process, truth must circulate and prayer. Often believers pray when they are under certain pressure. saturate from the mind to the heart so that it could form a category They come to God for a quick fix. But when situations are rosy. they UCF page 5
quickly would give God a hi-five. God I would see you later! Such attitude is a sheer ignorant of who we are in Christ. Prayer is not a means to change God’s mind. In fact, no one can change the mind of the immutable God. When we change our position about an issue, in the biblical phrase it is as if God has changed His mind. Doctrinal deficiency and carnality is a wall to the principle of effective worship. How some born again pray is terrible. If you hear what some pray you might be forced to ask where in the world is this person coming from. No wonder some resort to so-called speaking in tongues when they don’t know what and how to pray. God because of who He is ensures a common grace provision for the believer regardless. Obliviously, this baby Christian thinks that God is blessing him because he is so spiritual. As soon as fleeting riches touches his hand he would change old friends with new ones. Because prayer is an avenue to remind God of His promises it predicates that we have a residue of divine viewpoint. For I believe certain prayer request is delayed or denied entirely because of lack of capacity to handle such blessing. God won’t give one what he cannot manage. God may permit Satan to go ahead with quick fixes if the child of God proves stubborn. You can’t worship God effectively unless you have an adequate knowledge of His will. The believer must know the mechanics of prayer. That spirituality is not an option, but a command. Efficient and effective prayer is a result of spiritual growth and not the means of spiritual growth.
God is like a letter written in our hearts and read by unbelievers, believers as well as angels. When we worship God by our unspoken lifestyle it brings glory to God. This means the whole creations affirm the awesomeness of God. That He could use weak people, those He created out of dust to reflect His image and divine character. Thus, according to the Bible God is at work in us to will and to act according to His good pleasure. Experiencing God in worship is only real through divine influence. By our nature we are not wired to worship God, we need a new wiring if we ever desire to serve God. It is only through obedient to divine mandates that we could present our bodies as a living sacrifice. The dynamics to execute the Christian way of life is possible by means of Bible doctrines and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, if anyone submits himself to Rom. 12: 2 principles, he invariably would be obedient to chapter 12:1. And would experience true worship, which is Christ in and through him the hope of glory. By Rev Elias Godson Amechi
Fourth, worship experience can be a mental attitude. Sometimes the environment can be challenging in worship. I remember many years ago I heard of people who were persecuted because the caused nuisance to their neighbors. Effective worship need not necessarily be audible. Worship can be experience through a thinking exercise. It is possible to silently sing songs and make merry in our heart before Him who sees in the spirit. This mental attitude approach to worship could be cultivated over a period of time. Prayer worship could be offered to God anywhere anytime unaware to anyone around us. When life seems so miserable, worship is an invaluable tool to an inner state of happiness and tranquility. When crisis knock at the door of our heart worship can restore a fragmented soul and open up a door of divine solution. We can worship our way to victory and breakthrough in our Christian experiences. I don’t know for you, to me worship with understanding had been a great and invaluable source of strength, calm and courage. Our lifestyle could be an unspoken worship. The word of

The devil is undeniably a genius, but no doubt an evil genius. He is an expert in his chosen profession and ministry. With over 6,000 years of experience in Evil and Wickedness Administration (EWA), the Devil, Satan himself is certainly not a small person in his ministry; which is to steal, to kill and to destroy. He has over the centuries, perfected these atrocious acts, and deploys a whole range and gamut of devices and strategies. His mission is essentially to destroy the faith of believers as part of his rebellion against God Almighty. The devil's ways and means are legion, and most times very calculative and effectual as he preys on the minds, emotions and sentiments of God's children. Some times we think that the devil has had his way against God's people, but the good news is that he fails at last. We remain victorious in Christ Jesus, who over 2,000 years ago made a public show of principalities and powers. In fact, the devil, the liar has a history of both falling as in his old time rebellion against God (Rev 12:7-11), and failing, after he had tempted Jesus Christ ( Matthew 4:1-11). Some time in 2005, my local church in the little kingdom of Agbor in Delta State of my country Nigeria was stunned and thrown into deep mourning when our young, vibrant and dear pastor who went to the church headquarters in Lagos for a conference, and while on his way back to base on that fateful Sunday evening had an auto crash less than 10 miles away from. There were two other people in the car, but the young pastor, full of zeal for the Lord was the only person that died. What an irony, some people thought. The next sunday, only about half of the congregation was in church. It took a special grace of God for yours sincerely and family to be in church. Beyond the expected feeling of grief over the loss of our dear pastor, you could easily see the discouragement in the faces of the congregation." Why would God allow this sort of tragedy", many people were heard asking. Well, that was simply the devil at work, another in his series of stragedy to discourage believers. In 1998 or there about, when the founding bishop of one of the largest Christian congregations and a leading pioneer of the Pentecostal Movement in Nigeria died of cardiac arrest, many members of that congregation, and in fact a large proportion of the body of Christ in that West African country asked a lot of questions. Many said they were no longer sure of their faith. The devil! Many great men of God and even prophets of old had at one time or another had their faith challenged. Another great man of God, and General Overseer of one of the largest Pentecostal congregations in Nigeria, once told a story of his mentoring pastor who in the earlier days of his ministry was interceding for him over his wife's child-bearing challenges. One day, news came that the mentoring pastor's grand daughter had died while the pastor was praying for her. This G.O said he could not believe it. How could that happen to the man he was relying on for prayers over his own problems? According to him, he almost dropped out of faith, before God spoke to him and reminded him that HE was the author and finisher of his faith, and not his mentoring pastor, ( Heb 12:2). John the Baptist was the prophet who announced our Lord, Jesus Christ; " Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world...", ( John 1:29-34). But when king Herod arrested him and put him in prison and he heard all that Christ was doing, he expected Christ to intervene and come to his rescue. But that did not happen. He therefore told his disciples to go and ask HIM, " Are You the Coming One, or do we expect another?" ( Matt 11:3 ). Prophet Elijah the Tishbite was the one who called fire from heaven to consume his burnt sacrifice in the presence of the prophets of Baal to prove that his God was the true living God that answers prayers, ( 1 Kings 18:20-40); and declared that there would be no dew nor rain in Israel for years, except at his word. But when Jezebel came after him ( 1 Kings 19: 1-4), he became so afraid and and ran away; and asked God to take his life. In the earlier days of his afflictions and
trials, Job despaired at a time and cursed the day he was born, and chastised the knee that received him at birth, ( Job 3:1-26). His faith was however, restored when God asked him some vital and overwhelming question which of course he had no answers to. With that came also his multiple restoration. Every once in a while, we hear stories of anointed and ''spirit-filled" powerful men of God getting involved in all kinds of scandal and drama over pervasive behaviors like homosexuality; adultery and other forms of sexual misconduct; stealing, embezzlement and misuse of church funds; opulent life styles and unmitigated display of wealth, at the expense of the poor members of the congregation that contribute those funds; hypocrisy, etc. The ordination of gay people as priests by some Christian denominations is to say the least most embarrassing and discouraging, even to the strongest and most mature believers. In all these, we must find strength and hope in St Paul's second letter to the Corinthians, chapter 3: 7-10; " But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power must be of God and not us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down , but not destroyed.- always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body". Our Lord Jesus Christ has assured further in the gospel recorded by St John chapter 16:33, '' ... in the world you will have tribulation ( and trials even of our faith), but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world". With this assurance from the thrown of Him that died and still lives, that we are over comers in Him and through Him, we therefore ought not to quit believing and trusting, even to the end of time. When we are feeling unwell, or even our pastor not quite sound in health, for he is also human; when we have no job to do and probably no food on the table, we would not quit believing and trusting, because we know Who we have believed; the Almighty God, the father of our Lord Jesus Christ who settled our matter by making it clear in St Paul's letter to the Romans, Chapter 8: 35-39; " Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: " For your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter" Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing , shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord". Thank you, and have a joyful and fun-filled season. Chris Ndim

Psalm 133: Blessed Unity of the People of God. (Unity prompts God’s blessing). If your conversation and dealing with each other does not give God glory, you will not have the blessing because unity prompts God’s blessing. Remember the two men going to Emmaus, Luke 24:14 as they walked along they were talking about everything that had happened. 15) as they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; 16) but they were kept from recognizing him. If they were gossiping or The glory goes to God, our backbiting, Jesus would not have joined them. If we claim to be religious but do not control our tongues we are just fooling creator who created us exactly what he wanted us to be. He anointed us to be what we should be, what you need to stay strong ourselves, and our religion is worthless. Witness for Christ with your life as well as your lips, the more we meditate on the scriptures is inside of you.Declare God’s favor upon you daily and avoid the closer we can come to attaining the goal of building unity in our speaking negatively. Do what you can, live right, think right, and pray right then stand. What you cannot do God the Master will step church. Our rough edges must be chipped away to bring out the image of Christ. God’s work in us isn’t over when we receive in to do extraordinary. Christ; change others through us by our behavior. Focusing on 1 Peter 5:7 casting all your care upon Him; for He cares for you Christ puts everything in perspective. Like a compass the Bible always points us in the right direction. “It’s good to look inside our 1 Peter 3:4-5 4 rather let it be the heart - to check the obvious first – even when it feels as if all our hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle problems are caused by others.” By David Casland “I’ll check and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. 5 For in within my own heart first, the obvious to see that faults I find in others are really faults in Me.” by D. DeHaan. May God give us this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, Christ like hearts….Persistence in prayer pleases God. This passage helped me to stay married to just one man because as you know, marriage is not always a bed of roses, I believe marriage is a covenant with God; I made a vow before God to stay married to my husband until deaths do us part as it did.
Yes, together my late husband and I raised six God fearing successful sons. Husband and wife should be in agreement in how to raise the children, 1. Discipline 2.Supply what they need and not so much of wants. Ex: If the child asks the mother for something, cross check because again parents should be in agreement.
At this point in my life, I have no responsibilities other than God, myself and work. It may be easier for me than others to attend most church event, but everything revolves around planning; therefore, prioritizing is very important, for me God is first because He gives me the life that I’m living, I need to be in the presences of God. A family is composed of father, mother and children. Every member has a responsibility for a smooth running of the home, if every person in the family unit does what they are supposed to do, perhaps they would have more time to participate in more church activities. Again we’re talking about unity.
Proverbs 13:24 “Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.” Proverbs 23:13 Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you punish him with the rod, he will not die. The child is yours alone only when it is in the womb. Right from school age that child is not yours alone to take care of. Every person your child is under; such as, school teachers, church ministry or managers at the work place is supposed to act as parent to correct the child when necessary. These people contribute ¾ of building your child character. Your child may be an angel when at home with you but can be something else while away, before you come against the person who is correcting your child make sure you cross check as well. You can give birth to a baby but that doesn’t make you a mother. A mother must be committed as well as the father. God did not give us bad children; always pronounce God’s wisdom, favor and blessings upon your child. Deut. 28:1-14, they are all promises of God. Luke 2:52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

Honorable, Instead of Governor, you have Executive Governor, His Excellency, Not just Chief but Double Chief, Ultimate High Chief, etc. A branch president of my hometown association addresses himself as Executive President. Christ Experienced Satan’s RPG. Christ knows Satan from Experience. We must use Christ’s way to defeat Pride and Self aggrandizement. CHRIST’S WAY (Spiritual Acumen-sharpness of mind: the ability to make quick accurate intelligent judgments about people or situation). Christ Experienced Satan’s RPG. Christ knows Satan from Experience. Satan is Unrelenting: Remember 1 Peter 5:8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary (enemy) the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (kill). SATAN’S BIG GUN, THE GRENADE, DEVASTATION INCORPORATED, IS GREED. Let us see in our text how SATAN used RPG (The Greed in Us) on Christ (V.8, 9). CHRIST’S WAY (YawehHebrew name for God):The Jesus said to him, “Away with you,[d] Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”[e] Matthew 4:10. 11 Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.(v.11). Yaweh means Holy God in Hebrew (Gen. 3:5-6). God cannot be defeated with Greed. Christ defeat satan’s use of Greed by using His Way: He is Yaweh: Holy God. How about man, you and me? Greed is the one that really gets almost everybody because many people may not fall into the trap of Resources like food, etc. Additionally, many peoples desire for resources like food, wife, house has already been met. On pride, many people I know are not hung up on pride, power, position or being called Ultimate High Chief. Let us now see how Satan tries to use RPG (The Greed in People) on People. Greed: An excessive desire to acquire or possess more than what one needs or deserves.
Using CHRIST’S WAY (Yaweh-Hebrew name for God): Matthew 4:10. You shall Drive Satan Away (v. 10). Jesus said to him, “Away with you,[d] Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’” (V . 11). Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.AS I CLOSE: Satan is unrelenting and will try to steal your joy in Christ, kill your desire for Christ, and Destroy your faith. It is a Spiritual thing. Satan will defeat us if we are without Christ. God is a Spirit and they that worship Him must Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Christ stated in Matthew 12:30 that He who is not with Me is against Me. Therefore Resist Satan and he will flee from you like he fled from Christ in Matthew 4:11.Christ’s Way is the only Way to defeat Satan’s RPG. When Satan Tells you to steal something (Resource) that does not belong to you. Reply with Godly Wisdom like Christ did: But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’(matthew 4:4). When Satan tells you that you don’t have a child, husband, etc. Reply like Christ did: But He ansered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by husband, child, etc. alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Next: If Satan wants to exploit the Pride in man, like the Desire for Position or Power on you by stating “Are you not the rightful person to be the chairman since you are the first Son or first daughter of your father?
Didn’t the bible state that We are joint heirs with Christ (Rom. 8) Reply: I am a child of God and you shall not tempt the child of God. Finally when Satan tempts with Greed by coming as an Angel of Light and says to you: You deserve to own this big company by taking it over from the original owner so go and do some juju from the jujuman or you can join the secret society (Lodge) so that you From a Christian perspective, the core definition of greed is that it is can subdue all your opponents. Reply in Christ’s Way (Holy Godly the obsession with accumulating material goods. A greedy person YAHWEY way), like Christ: “Away with you,[d] Satan! For it is values material goods more than they value God. Cain was written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you greedy. I don’t mean Presidential candidate Herman Cain, that’s a shall serve.’ different story. I mean Cain the older brother of Abel who killed him because his offering was judged to be better by God. (Genesis Then the devil will leave you like it left Christ. I heard this sad Story 2weeks ago from a Minister friend who lives in dallas. This minister 4:4-9). had a Fiance in Port Harcourt. He filed for her Visa with the (3). June 2009 Imprisoned 150yrs. Well, Satan used RPG on her. Desire for Resource -- the Visa; The Christ Experienced Satan’s RPG. Christ knows Satan from pride of going overseas;. Experience. Christ defeated Satan so can we also defeat the Greed in Us by using Christ’s Way. WWJD. Christ warned us: “Do not The greed in man made her to spend her limited resources to pay others to pray for Visa instead of trusting God to do it. As you can lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust imagine, the marriage is off and may never happen. Christ’s Way destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for defeats satan’s RPG. Christs Wisdom will always defeat Satans yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where Temptation with Resources like food, money, or other things. Christ’s Spiritual Acumenwill always defeat Satans temptation on your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21). UCF page 9

-----------------------------------------------------------------------Our 2011 Winter Revival titled: “LIVE LIKE A WINNER!!” was a huge success by all accounts. Members were truly blessed by the man of God whom God had sent our way to be our Evangelist for the 3-day revival. Rev. Alejo’s messages were very simple but yet very powerful.
God Requires That You: 1. Fear Him 2. Walk in His ways 3. Love Him 4. Serve Him 5. Obey Him If you fulfill His requirements, He will NOTE:

"Excuses People Give Not to Accept Jesus Christ" [Luke 14: 15-24] Some Give The Following Excuses : 1. Why Does Evil exist in the world? 2. There are a lot of hypocrites in the world 3. There is a lot of time left in the world 4. All the religions are the same 5. God can't forgive me 6. I'm a bad person; I CAN'T Change! "There Is Nothing Impossible With God" [Luke 1: 37] BUT there are 5 Things God Will Not Do: 1. God will not go back on His words 2. God will not force you to do something you don't want to do 3. God is not going to let just anyone go to Heaven 4. God will never reject someone that repents 5. God will never let you down. He is in Control "What Does The Lord Require Of You?"

the Pride in man for Power (Self aggrandizement), position, being called Ultimate High Chief or Double Chief. Knowing Christ’s Position as Yahweh—We serve a Holy God so we must be Holy to defeat Satan’s temptation with the Greed in man. Christ knows that Satan exists to draw people away from the Way. During the last Supper in Jerusalem, in reply to Thomas’ question, Christ said to him: I am the WAY, the truth and the Life, No one comes to the Father except through Me. Christ makes it easy for us: Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30).
FINALLY: After many trials and tribulations, David wrote: Delight thyself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.(Psalm 37:4). Paul said: I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Joshua states: Choose ye this day whom you will serve.
Remember that Christ taught about material things: “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.(Matthew 6:24). A fool has said in his heart, there is no God. CHRIST’S WAY DEFEATS SATAN’S RPG.

Dayo Go!!! That was the cheer coming from the adult cheer section that consisted of parent and family friends last Monday evening at one of the home games for the Lady Wolves of Timberview high school. The cast of talented players and coaches included some very dedicated adults and kids and it also included UCF’s own Adedayo Olabode. I was mesmerized by her shooting, rebounding and her defensive presence on the floor. Be aware of the Lady Wolves schedule and catch Dayo play at the next home game. If you are a fan of the game, you will be trilled by the team’s performance. They are very entertaining and exciting to watch. It will be well worth your time!!!! UCF page 11
