highlighting GE’s business branches, Mr. Eric offered insightful information about GE. With more than 50K technologists, the company is able to manage its seven branches including Aviation, Power and Water, Transportation and Healthcare. The focus of Eric’s presentation

was to describe the way manufacturing is evolving within GE’s walls. The enterprise is aware of the new trends in the market such as 3D printing, desktop design and virtual manufacturing. The physical and digital worlds are currently converging when the advanced manufacturing meets industrial internet. The more collaborative and efficient these become, the greater is the chance for GE to increase its productivity. To reflect an estimated number, 1% of productivity savings represents more than

$500MM for GE. Returning to virtual manufacturing, GE is currently focused on developing a network that will be fully connected, automated, and predictable. It will be like a factory that never stops. There will be feedback loops within units that will help to improve design and production. All of these will translate into a better experience for the end consumer. Mr. Eric also introduced GE’s App Store that he expects will deliver an unprecedented efficiency and speed in manufacturing.
