Sweet Sorrow

We’re delighted to welcome back Roger McGough, one of Britain’s best-loved poets, as he presents his brand new collection, joinedupwriting. His new poems explore the human experience in all its shades of light and dark, but always with McGough’s signature wit, irreverence and vivacity.

Tuesday 8 October, 7.00pm | £10 (£9 concession) We are thrilled to bring the award-winning author and screenwriter David Nicholls to Durham. A decade after the release of his phenomenal bestseller, One Day, Nicholls returns with a bittersweet and brilliantly funny coming-of-age tale. Told over one lifechanging summer, Sweet Sorrow explores the transformative impact of first love. Following his talk, David introduces a screening of his adaptation of Far From The Madding Crowd. Film £5, or Film & Talk only £13 (£12 concession)
