Waikato Stud Matamata Swifts v Melville Utd WaiBOP Premiership - 2.45pm
Richardson Racing Stables Swifts Reserves v Whakatane Town WaiBOP Championship - 12.30pm Matamata Domain | Saturday August 15, 2015
A Few Kind Words Welcome to the Domain for another WaiBOP Premiership and Championship double header. We’re in to mid-August but the season is far from over, with all our teams set to play through until lateSeptember. And then we have the Under-19’s campaign 2015 to look forward to. Hopefully the better weather (it is Management coming, isn’t it...?) will allow for games to be played on Committee better surfaces, which should lead to decent football. Having said that, with the battering the region has taken Patron over the winter that may be a big ask. Jack Poole While there’s a lot of football still to be played, it’s at this time of year that the club’s management committee President starts turning its attention to reviewing the season then Julie Clothier determining what the club needs to do over the next Vice-President year to improve. We’ve done a lot of good things this Malcolm Raynel year, including making progress in areas that may not Treasurer be visible to the average club member but, as with any Dave Mann organisation, there are always areas in which we can be Secretary better. Debbie Sankey It’s those areas we’ll be paying special attention to during the next couple of months. Club Captain In the meantime, we’ve got some football to look Ronan Costello forward to this afternoon. We welcome Melville United Committee and Whakatane Town to the Domain for what, I’m sure, Pete Challis will be competitive encounters. Both our teams still have Ana Paterson a lot to play for this season as both the Premiership and Junior Convenor Championship are fairly unpredictable leagues. Cathy O’Callaghan It’s been a little while since I thanked our sponsors in Club Development Mgr this column, so I’d like to remind everyone of the support Dwayne Barlow a number of local firms and people give this club. Our club members may or may not feel their subs are high, but without our sponsors they’d be so much higher. Our club offers a good service to our community and our sponsors play a big part in this. Thank you everyone. Dwayne Barlow, Club Development Manager PICTURED Front Cover The back of Michael Dawson against Ngongotaha two weeks ago.
