Fornek came to UD as a tackle but is now projected to start at left guard. In the 2008 season, he played in seven games for the Flyers. He saw action in one game in the 2007 season and redshirted in 2006. Dan is a two-time member of the PFL Academic Honor Roll.

Son of Frank and Diane Fornek....Born on August 30, 1988....Has two younger brothers....Majoring in Adolescent and Young Adult Education, with a focus in English....Was a varsity starter in his senior year of high school at tight end and a two-year special teams starter on varsity.

AT DAYTON

A versatile athlete, Friedrich started his career at tight end, was moved to tackle in 2007, and then moved to right guard heading into the 2008 season. In 2008, the Ohio native participated in all 12 games for the Flyers, joining the starting line-up in four of those. He is expected to start full-time in 2009. He was a member of the 2007 PFL Championship team, lettering after playing in six games. Tyler also received 2008 PFL Academic Honor Roll recognition.

Son of Rick and Leslie Friedrich...Born on March 9, 1988...Majoring in Exercise Physiology...Friedrich was a two-year team captain at Dublin Jerome HS where he was also a second team all-conference and an all-league pick.

A 2009 co-captain, Fumagalli moved into the lead linebacker role, previously filled by Brian Kelly, for the 2008 season. He started in all nine games he played, tallying 36 tackles (21 of which were unassisted) and one sack. In 2007, Fumagalli had 48 tackles and was second on the team with two QB hurries. He also had one sack, three tackles for a loss, and one forced fumble. He played in nine games in 2006 as UD’s third linebacker, and was credited with nine tackles. He did not play in any games in 2005. His brother Ross, a sophomore, backed him up in the 2008 season. Drew was a member of the 2008 PFL Academic Honor Roll.

PERSONAL

Son of Doug and Char Fumagalli...Born on June 3, 1987...Has two brothers, Troy and Flyer teammate Ross....Majoring in Business Marketing and Finance...Was named all-conference as a junior and senior in both football and baseball. A member of the National Honor Society, he was also named academic all-conference.
