Explorer’s Class begins a news series today on “The Traditions and Beliefs of Christianity.” This 4-week series led by Dr. Dale Bowen will explore a range of cultural beliefs, sacred literatures and festivals throughout the decades that have played a part in their formation. DVD segments by biblical scholars and a wide range of questions for discussion will be featured. All adults welcome. 9 a.m. in the Adult Room. Coffee is served. Adult Bible Study - During the month of January, the class will be finishing the Old Testament, discussing the return from the Exile. Contemporary Issues - This 10:30 Adult Class topic of discussion for the next 6 weeks will be “Jews and Christians, a Journey of Faith”. We will examine the beliefs and rituals common to Judaism and Christianity and learn how Christianity and Judaism have defined themselves and developed in close sibling relationship. It offers support to and education about gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons and their families. It also hosts the Tempe PFLAG group meeting each first Friday of the month. Our clergy can provide the names of “Connections” members for you to contact. Brown Bag Lunch - Come join us for Brown Bag Lunch every Tuesday at 12:00 noon.
