The NEW MEMBER SUNDAY will be held on August 28 th. Child care is provided. Koinonikos - The August issue of the Dayspring newsletter is now available for pick-up in the narthex for those who have chosen that option. The Children’s Music Ministry has an immediate need for a pianist/accompanist for Wednesday evening rehearsals weekly, and possible Sunday Services monthly. If you are interested, please contact Michael Kelley in the Church Office Monday thru Thursday, or after Sunday Worship. Rehearsals begin August 10. Sunday School Starts This Morning! - We are still looking for volunteers to lead a Sunday School class this fall. It’s rewarding to have the opportunity to get to know some of our Dayspring children. Curriculum is written and sent to you, and all you have to do is follow the lesson. (I also have back-up copies in the rooms). We need everyone’s help! It’s easy to participate - either email me at kluzaich@cox.net or call me (480) 219-9696. Bibles for 3rd Graders - We are planning to hand out bibles to the third graders this year on August 28 th. Lunches - Each Sunday after the second service, those who want to go out for lunch as a group meet at the restaurant listed below. If you attend first service, please join us! We gather around noon under the name “Dayspring”. August 7 - Cracker’s & Co. - 1285 W. Elliot Rd., between Priest and Hardy, on the south side. UMOM Volunteers Needed - We are in need of volunteers to help with UMOM Homeless Shelter dinners on the following Sundays: Sept. 18, Oct. 9, Oct. 16, Oct. 23, Nov. 20, Dec. 11 and Dec. 18. Thanks so much! “Connections” is a Dayspring mission that advocates for the intrinsic worth of all persons, regardless of their sexual orientation. It offers support to and education about gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons and their families. It also hosts the Tempe PFLAG group meeting each first Friday of the month. Our clergy can provide the names of “Connections” members for you to contact. Koinonikos Schedule - The next deadline date for the newsletter is August 15, and will include events in the month of September. Dayspring Preschool and Kindergarten - We still have some openings for the 2011-2012 school year. There is space available in the 3 year-old program, afternoon 4's and Kindergarten. These are non-invasive and painless screenings and take 60-90 minutes to complete. The results are mailed directly to you.
