RING A BELL FOR THE SALVATION ARMY The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle campaign is an easily recognizable sign of the holidays, and it’s a volunteer activity that all ages can do. Volunteer to man a convenient kettle location for a two-hour shift or organize a group to take over the location for an entire day and put your creative talents into action — sing, dance, play an instrument, bring a pet, anything that helps make it fun! Volunteers younger than 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Learn more at 513-762-5600 or visit “Where Every Family Matters.”

Want to help even more? You can Double Your Dollars on Wednesday, Nov. 16 from 6 a.m. midnight — just call or head online to make a donation to the Freestore Foodbank. Second Helping will match donations, so your gift of $25 will help provide 150 meals to hungry children and families this holiday season. To make a donation, call 513-482-FOOD (3663) or visit doubleyourdollarsday. The Freestore Foodbank is also in need of volunteers to help families enjoy a shared meal. Volunteers can help deliver and distribute holiday boxes containing food for a memorable Thanksgiving — a perfect opportunity for older kids and teens. Available shifts vary, for more info, head to holidayoperations.freestorefoodbank.
