Jen Hofer is a Los Angeles-based poet, translator, social justice interpreter, teacher, knitter, book-maker, public letter-writer, urban cyclist, and cofounder with John Pluecker of the language justice and literary activism collaborative Antena (www.antenaantena.org). A documentary piece Antena wrote about our work at Project Row Houses in Houston can be read on The Conversant at The Volta website (www.thevolta.org), and our “Manifesto for Discomfortable Writing” can be read online at Floor (http://floorjournal.com). Her latest translations include the homemade chapbook En las maravillas/In Wonder (Libros Antena/Antena Books, 2012) and Ivory Black, a translation of Negro marfil by Myriam Moscona (Les Figues Press, 2011), which won prizes in 2012 from the Academy of American Poets and PEN American Center. Her recent and forthcoming books of poetry and translation are available from a range of autonomous small presses, including Action Books, Atelos, Dusie Books, Insert Press, Kenning Editions, Litmus Press, Palm Press, and Subpress.
