ecuase ever since I could talk I have been obsessed with cars and speed, its always been a dream of mine to drive and feel the adrenaline rush of going fast, this BMW was the first car I ever bought and fueled the fire and started my motorsport hobby. I also really love it because it is becoming a modern classic and I was lucky enough to get it cheap and in perfect condition with one owner and next to no miles on it which is unheard of for this type of car especially for its age.

A bit of story about my
BMW M
“
y car model is a vintage BMW 3 serise, built in 1991 and exported to Australia from germany. It’s kind of a special or weird model becuase on the books it doesnt really exist becuase this model (e36) officially started production in 1992 and the previous series (e30) ended in 1991, basically meaning that in workshop manuals and on the internet it doesnt exist as a 1991 e36, making sometimes confusing to get parts for. This car is especially fun due to its manual transmission and rear-wheel drive configuration making it a suitable base for motorsport-related activities. - Rupert Rushall

ell, like what everbody else would no doubt say, the freedom is a big factor as to why having a car is great but its also the learning involved as i also service it and do all the work on it personally, allowing me to gain knowlege and gain skills in the field of mechanics. As previously stated I also am fasinated by speed and the feeling it brings and a car is the perfect platform for going fast, such as a tool for participating in racedays at local tracks. - Rupert Rushall

had a friend who was playing records out and he introduced me to them and I instantly got hooked. I like the collectability and community around them. After travelling to Japan, Korea and the States with a lot of my time spent record shopping I was able to meet so many people and connect with them through music something that I would struggle to do digitally. Finding a record that you’ve been looking for or one that you have never seen after a few hours of digging is awesome. It’s also always nice to hold something tangibly that you like. I will say though as of recent my record collecting has slowed down as its not cheap. - Aidan Michael

am a fan of the simplicity. If I like it, I own it and won’t forget about that song. On top of that most of the records I own I have specific memories attached to playing or purchasing them. Also, I have always enjoyed playing them out on a good sound system. I think though some of my best memories related to them are the connections I’ve made with people in Melbourne and abroad through them. - Aidan Michael

f I had to pick one record, I would pick... Hard question because I could pick one for every hour of the day. Funnily enough the black one one my knee is one of my all time favourite. It’s Kuniyuki Takahashi’s track: Divine Harmonics (Precious Hall Cosmic Fusion Version) would be the one. It’s Joe Claussell’s Sacred Rhythm Music label which is basically a gold mine for crazy drums, jazzy improv and solid grooves. I was lucky enough to snag a copy from the guys at the record store I used to help out at! The record I’m holding is one of my fav’s from Minor Science. He has a really unique production style with some influence from the old heavy bass movements from early dubstep. I’m a big fan of both sides of the records and find myself coming back to it. - Aidan Michael

ost of the jewellery was purchased in Europe, either Serbia or Italy when my father travelled between 1970-1990. Other pieces were given to my mother from my grandmother when my mother was a child. Then, my mother gave these to me over the years. - Tara Milenković

hen I was a child, I used to sit on my mother’s bed and play with her jewellery, especially the sparkly blue and white beaded crystal necklace. I was fascinated by her jewellery box and magical treasures inside. The jewellery box has remained intact over the years and represents a lot for me, especially considering how old it is. My father gifted it to my mother after a trip he took back to Serbia in the 70’s. The jewellery itself isn’t overly expensive, but it has carried a lot of story and connection, not only to my family, but also to my cultural heritage. - Tara Milenković

only ever wear the blue necklace on special occasions, but mostly it remains in my jewellery box as it’s quite old and fragile. When I do wear it i’m often reminded of myself as a kid wearing it, which makes me feel warm and nostalgic. It’s a very special piece. - Tara Milenković
