PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS Hospitality and tourism management students at Davis & Elkins College are provided with management principles, an understanding of the food and lodging business and practical working experience. D&E students have the unique opportunity to learn in the elegant Graceland Inn & Restaurant and Robert C. Byrd Center for Hospitality and Tourism, located right on campus, which provide the perfect learning laboratory. D&E is located central to West Virginia’s leading resort area. Students have ready access to world-class facilities and

nearby recreational destinations, including Snowshoe Resort and Stonewall Resort and Conference Center. Students have the opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge from some of the East Coast’s best resorts, including The Greenbrier and The Homestead. Davis & Elkins College has received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), including the B.A. in hospitality and tourism management.

WHY MAJOR IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT? The hospitality and tourism industry offers a variety of career choices for the graduate: hotel and lodging management, food service management, tour operator, executive chef, meeting, convention and event planning, restaurant management, casino management, spa management, front office management and more. The demand for college graduates in the hospitality and tourism management field is strong and continues to grow. The need for lodging managers is forecast to grow eight percent over the next decade. The need for meeting, convention and event planners is forecast to grow more than 40 percent over the next decade.
