COLORADO RIVER AQUEDUCT PROPOSED URBAN WATER CYCLE

TERMINAL ISLAND WATER RECLAMATION PLANT

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California manages the Colorado River Aqueduct. The aqueduct impounds water from the Colorado River at Lake Havasu, and provides the majority of Southern California’s drinking water.

The existing water infrastructure incorporates water reuse but the water must go through an intensive treatment before it canALL-AMERICAN be used again.CANAL N treatment The proposed system reroutes greywater from different building types so that the greywater undergoes minimal before being reused. The strategy is also known as “scalping”.
