A LOCAL newspaper reporter has brought a brace of classic cars to this year’s Woodvale Rally. David Simister, motoring correspondent for The Champion, said he had taken both his 1992 Mini Classic and his 1972 MGB GT to the event, held on August 6 and 7 at RAF Woodvale, near Formby. “The Woodvale Rally is always a must if you’re a motoring enthusiast living in the north west, as it’s always a true showcase for the sheer variety of classic cars, motorbikes and other vehicles from across the region and further beyond,” he said. “Both the cars will be familiar to many Champion readers as they’ve often featured in the newspaper’s motoring section in the Life On Cars column. At last year’s Rally plenty of people stopped to ask me about the adventures I’d had in the Mini I’d brought along, and I’m looking forward to chatting to other enthusiasts about the cars they’ve brought
