CoisCéim Dance Theatre presents

Swimming With My Mother & Deep End Dance Swimming with my Mother is a stage duet embodying the relationship between a mother and son and their mutual love for swimming and dancing. In this intimate dance, shared pasts intertwine and build gently like a rising tide. Life stories are told with humour to the sultry tones of Nat King Cole. Deep End Dance, a short dance film, features a fully dressed man as he is pushed into a swimming pool by his mother. He brushes himself off and begins dancing underwater, always aware that she’s watching. After a while she joins him in the turquoise dappled waters and they perform a playful underwater dance. Nominated for an Irish Film and Television Award in 2011, winner Best Short Film at the Boston Irish Film Festival.
