Victoria, the capital city of British Columbia, is well known for its spectacular natural surroundings, mild climate and proximity to major Canadian and US cities (Vancouver and Seattle). Known as the “City of Gardens” for its famous parks and hanging flower baskets, Victoria is clean, safe, and culturally diverse. A popular tourist destination, Victoria comes alive with activity. Traveling musicians, comedians, and artisans regularly flock to Victoria for its unique cultural setting and bustling atmosphere. Victoria boasts many world famous attractions including the Butchart Gardens, the Fairmont Empress Hotel, and the Royal British Columbia Museum. As well, among its natural surroundings, you will find fabulous whale watching, snowcapped mountains, and old growth forests not far from downtown.

Support services to ensure a successful international experience The International Programs (IP) team is committed to providing all international students the best possible academic and non-academic support. IP provides pre-arrival support, orientation on arrival and ongoing assistance throughout your stay including academic workshops and one-on-one tutoring. Throughout the semester, we also host a number of different events to help you get to know your fellow students and the local community.
