Smock Alley Theatre Felim Dunne together with Terry O’Neill of Fearon O’Neill Rooney Consulting Engineers designed a temporary reconstruction of the Smock Alley Theatre for the Rough Magic Theatre Company production of “Boomtown”, a highpoint of the Dublin Theatre Festival in 1999. The theatre was similar in plan to the Teatro del Mundo created by Aldo Rossi for the Venice Biennale in 1985 with approximately 25 seats on each of four galleries. The temporary theatre was built in Meeting House Square in Temple Bar in Dublin and remained there for the duration of the theatre festival. The theatre was a huge success.
