Training Officer Job location: South Yangon Division (Dala – Main Office, Twantay and Seikkyi Townships) Starting date: July 2011 Duration: 6 months (Extendable) Job purpose The Training Officer will be in charge of the management of the South Yangon project training quality, effectiveness of training curriculum both staffs and community network. S/he is under the responsibility of the Project Manager and work closely with Medical Coordination team in Yangon for all technical issues. Activities 1) Training of projects beneficiaries Ö Prepare the trainings in close collaboration with the Program Medical Officer (PMO), HE officer, CD officer, WASH officer, RH officer, AMW trainer, CD advisor Ö Support the training of the AMW in collaboration with the AMW trainer Ö Ensuring of all necessary training documentation in place and on time Ö Regular quality assessment of the training material currently in use and capitalization of existing different training methodologies and tools Ö Suggest and integrate innovative and participatory training methodologies and behavior change communication for all trainings Ö Regular evaluation of the trainees (in the training, field and through the monthly meeting) 2) AMI Staff Training Ö Regularly evaluation of the training needs of the all project staffs in close collaboration with Project officer, Program Medical Officer Ö Identify, organize and facilitate appropriate trainings according to the assessment and implement a follow up plan in collaboration with field staff and their managers 3) Monitoring Ö Regular participation in monthly meetings together with officers (HIV peer educator, RH volunteer, WASH committee or volunteer, SHG committee, AMW ) Ö Regular participation in the review of monthly monitoring reports 4) Report / Meeting / Planning Ö Planning of monthly activities with the Project officer and PMO Ö Write a monthly report to the PM and the Medical department in Yangon Ö Development of a training plan in close collaboration with the Project officer and PMO Ö Participation in the medical and base meetings Ö Participation in the development of a work plan and long-term strategy of the health promotion within the community 5) Relationship Ö Close collaboration with Programme Medical Officer (PMO), HE officer, CD officer, WASH officer, RH officer, AMW trainer, CD advisor in order to improve the quality of the network between the different departments Ö Close collaboration with the Country Medical Officer and Country Medical Assistant in Yangon Requirements: - Diploma in health or Medical degree - Minimum 2 years working as a trainer or in a similar position and experience in an INGO will be an asset - Strong experience as a trainer - Myanmar and English compulsory - Excellent communication skills - Proven organization skills, proven decision-making - Proven leadership skill, negotiation and representation skills
