SUMMER DAYCARE PACKETS are available in Ms. Heidi’s office and the school office. “The Bible is a remarkable fountain: the more one draws and drinks of it, the more it stimulates thirst." – Martin Luther PRINCIPAL – Mr. Birnbaum: I can't say it enough - THANK YOU for a GREAT YEAR! It is wonderful to have families that care about their child's education and teach their children to respect authority. When parents encourage their children (and teachers) and teach them to look at the positive, it makes for an incredible environment. I pray God's blessings on your summer adventures. Interim Day for Middle School was a BIG SUCCESS on Friday due to the extreme efforts of Janet Goll. They had the opportunity to try cake/cookie decorating, cinnamon roll baking, golfing, Sun 'n Fun, Fire Department, and more. SECRETARY – Mrs. Erickson: Thank you to everyone who brought breakfast/luncheon foods, gifts, and cards for me last week during staff appreciation week and/or secretary’s day; you made me feel appreciated, and I appreciate YOU for doing it! Thank you, also, to Mrs. Blackstar for organizing it all…you are awesome! Extra special thanks to everyone who has supported and encouraged me, and even picked up my slack this year (and last), as I missed work for various doctor appointments. Your understanding and PRAYERS have been, and continue to be, very encouraging and much appreciated! Report card pickup starts June 1; if you plan to pick up report cards later in the summer, please email or call first to make sure someone is here, especially on Friday’s. 8th Graders (and families)…don’t be a stranger; remember to stop by and catch up from time to time! I’m going to miss you all! The rest of you…we’ll see you in the fall! LIBRARY – Mrs. Ware: I would like to thank all of the students, teachers, and staff that prayed for, made cards, sent food, or just good wishes my way during my recuperation. It meant so much to me and cheered me through a

difficult time. I also want to thank Darleanna Warnecke for being my substitute while I was away. Students it is time to bring library books back! Please check your lockers, your bookshelves, under beds, etc. for First Lutheran School Library books. We are finished checking out for the year and are concentrating on bringing back overdue items. Students: Have a wonderful summer, and please pick up a book and read over break! Reading is like anything else you have to practice, you have to keep at it to get better! ECE – Daycare – Ms. Heidi: Daycare needs donated fitted sheets and flat sheets any sizes. PRE-SCHOOL – Mrs. Herard: Our last full week of school! We are almost there and what an amazing journey it has been. So very proud of what this group has accomplished! Thank you for letting me be a part of your child's educational journey. Please let me know if you will be attending the diploma ceremony on the 23rd at 10:15 and who is planning to go on the 18th with Miss Michelle's class to the park for lunch. I know some of you have enrolled for PK with us for next year. Yea! I will get to see "my kids" again next year! If you are thinking about it and have questions, I would be happy to visit with you at any time. This week our theme is "Animals at the Zoo". Blessings for you week! PRE-KINDERGARTEN – Mrs. Kelly/Mrs. Colvin: Thank you again for the wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week! Can you believe we are on our last full week of school! The year has flown by! I have loved getting to know your children! I know God has big plans for their future! Thank you for sharing them with us! We are finishing assessments and reviewing our alphabet. Keep reviewing over the summer, reading is right around the corner for them. Our Bible words this week are, Create in me a clean heart, O God. Psalm 51:10 Have a blessed week and a wonderful summer! KINDERGARTEN – Mrs. Miller: Wow, summer is almost here! I hope everyone has a great summer break! We would like to wish Sawyer (7-17), Gentry (8-5) and Hesston (8-2) a happy birthday during the summer. Please keep reading all summer because reading is fun! Have a magnificent week and summer! FIRST GRADE – Mrs. Birnbaum: Memory for Friday is the 10th Commandment - You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor. Please work at home on this commandment, it is the longest one! Thank you for all of the nice gifts last week, I really appreciate it! If you still have a library book at home, please get it returned this week. Tomorrow is our movie day - remember to bring a pillow/blanket to use! Happy summer birthday to Slate, Triton, and Avery! If you can get me a copy by Friday, the grade will change. A.R. Please be on the lookout for a permission slip for our A.R. party to the bowling alley. Once your child meets their goal, I will give them a permission slip. FOURTH GRADE – Mrs. Sibley: The kids are really excited about the auction items that they have seen so far for the auction on Monday. The auction could not happen without you. MIDDLE SCHOOL 5/17 PCPS Boys Physicals, 5-6 p.m., Robson Fieldhouse, $25

5/29 2:00 p.m. PCPS Baseball tryouts for incoming 9-12th Grades

Mrs. Harbeson: Greetings, Everyone! This is our last official Chatter for the year! It's hard to believe that another school year has come and gone. I'd like to thank everyone for making me feel so special and loved during teacher appreciation week. Thank you for the notes, flowers, treats, and gifts. I'd also like to thank Holly Blackstar and her crew for all the "extras" that we teachers received last week. You really went above and beyond. I pray that you all will have a wonderful summer break. Stay safe and God's blessings to you all! Mrs. Hanson: Thank you all for showing us teachers so much love and appreciation last week! Although we would not be here if it weren't for you and everything we do is for our students, so THANK YOU, we APPRECIATE YOU! All classes have a comprehensive final Tuesday, May 22. This test will cover all content learned since January. You can check my website for specific topics for each class. We will review in class but studying will need to be done at home too. But I know everyone will do great on this test because they all did a wonderful job at learning it in the first place. It is such an honor to work with motivated, talented kids. Thank you all for a great year. Everyone is so much smarter, so much more mature, and so much taller ;) than the beginning of the year. I love watching students grow, academically, physically, and spiritually. I am truly blessed to have had another year with y'all here at First Lutheran! Mrs. Pacey: Have a fantastic summer! I cannot believe this is the last Chatter of the year! This year really seemed to fly by, and I know everyone is ready for summer! I sent home letters about summer work for KhanAcademy and MobyMax. They are both great ways to keep those math skills sharp for next year. Congratulations to all the graduating 8th graders, and good luck in high school! We love you! Have a great summer! Mr. Covert: We’re in the last full week of the school year! I hope everyone is doing well as we work our way to the end of the year. Our classes are doing what we can get to before the end of the year. 8th grade is wrapping up World War II. In 7th grade, we’re finishing up Central Africa, and if we have a little time at the end of the year, we might take a quick look at Antarctica. In 6th grade, we’re going through the various revolutions; this time the Industrial Revolution. 7th grade parents, when it comes time to make payments on what you owe for the DC trip, if you bring them to the school office and let them know it’s for DC, I can take all of them and deposit them all at once. Thank you in advance for getting them in on time! I pray that God continues to bless our school family through this last little bit of school! Blessings on your week and on your summer! FUTURE WASHINGTON D.C. ATTENDEES: If you need to make payments to your D.C. account, please note that you cannot make payments with a credit card. We will, however, accept checks, cash, money orders, etc. Thank you.
