Management expertise includes:  Assembly and leadership of project teams consisting of multiple disciplines (Geotechnical, Civil, Architectural, Interiors, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Telecommunications, Landscape, Security, Fire Protection, Cost Estimating, Specification and LEED).  Preparation and submittal of proposals in response to RFQs or RFPs.  Evaluation and preparation/management of consultant contracts in accordance with company and client requirements.  Development of project performance plans that include: Schedule of hours related to fees to allow tracking of project expenditures and revenues for the various disciplines through the project design and construction phases. Preliminary project schedule with various milestones identified for the projected deliverables and costs associated with reaching these milestones. Project protocols and standards to be followed. Task information management system to track assignments and due dates. Quality control program, forms and independent technical reviews to track adherence to technical and quality standards.  Project review/progress meetings.  Lead client submittal preparation and delivery.  Mentoring through educational luncheon presentations, problem solving, reviews, and "lessons learned".

 

Architectural and Technical/project expertise includes:  Preparation of Basis of Design documents and their maintenance.  Construction document preparation and construction administration. Professional Registrations:  Peer and technical reviews for code compliance and project coordination. 1980/California/Architect, No. C11060  Code (CBC, CFC, CPC, CMC, CEC, T24) reviews and coordination of 2003/United States Green Building Council jurisdictional requirements. Sample Project Descriptions

  Newhall County Water District: New Administration Building, Santa Clarita, CA. Project Manager/Principal Architect for design of a new District Administration Building. The Administration Building is a two-story, 13,000 SF LEED® gold certified facility that includes: fire resistant construction compliant with special fire district requirements including compliance to L.A. County Fire Fuel Modification requirements; sustainable design; site sensitive development including FEMA flood zone mitigation, retaining of mature Oak grove, pervious paving and storm water retention avoiding cost of a complete storm drain system; and community orientation/outreach/ education facilities including an integrated service center and a technology application center. This project received a "Cornerstone" Concrete Excellence Award from the Southern California Concrete Producers for Green Building being of insulated concrete form (ICF) construction.  

 

City of South Pasadena: Wilson Reservoir Replacement. Project architect for the design of three structures to fit within a residential neighborhood to comply with neighborhood input and requirements. Structures include a pump station, operations building and clearwell. On-Call Architectural Consulting Services: City of Huntington Beach, Public Works Department. Project Manager/Principal Architect for multiple projects involving a variety of local government/public use facilities. Projects included planning studies, facility assessments, and remodel/ expansions for: -

 

 

 

Fire Station Nos. 1, 2 and 4 remodel/expansions/gender separation. Building/Planning Dept. Remodel of 3,500 s.f. Public Safety Facilities Improvements. Study to develop facility requirements and siting options for enhanced public safety facilities including a new indoor police firearms training facility, enhanced communications (911/dispatch) center, enlarging locker rooms for new gender specific facilities, and relocating gym and training areas. Civic Center Improvements. Study to reconfigure and expand city departments and functions within the Civic Center Complex. Study included an assessment of existing operations and facilities including utility systems and parking, development of options to relocate several department functions to create a “one-stop” lobby area serving the community and staffing forecasts.

Security Command & Control Center: Port of Long Beach, CA. Sustainable Design Manager during the both the programming and design phases. TSA grant funded project to create a complex to house joint agency facilities for the Long Beach/Los Angeles port complex including various local, State and Federal enforcement agencies. The facility is a first of its kind generated by the need to increase port security in response to concerns raised by 9/11. LEED® Silver certification achieved. Building H1-H4 Campus Consolidation: Raytheon Systems Co., Goleta, CA. Architect for consolidating two research and manufacturing campuses to one (179,000 SF). Interior spaces included executive and administrative offices, conference rooms, laboratories (i.e., electronics, vibration, metrology), research facilities, computer rooms, special environments (i.e., clean rooms), reproduction and storage rooms, employee facilities, and ancillary equipment rooms. Exterior improvements required compliance with stringent area aesthetic requirements and obtaining Design Review Board approval from the County of Santa Barbara. Project was occupied within 8 months of initial client contact. Boeing Facilities Project Manager: Responsible for design and contract administration of multiple contracts for facility upgrades, relocations, and corporate strategic planning (5-yr) for Long Beach facilities during both growth and downsizing.
