The Community Stage is a staged area, located at the top of Sheaf Street in Daventry. You can book a time slot to perform music, theatre, display artwork or to advertise your organisation or business. Daventry Photographic Society Photo Competition www.daventryphotographicsociety.co.uk This competition is now closed. However please visit the Daventry Library to view all entries and the winners from 17th June to 1st July. Congratulations to: Alex Howard the winner of the 11-18yrs category. Linda Ariss the winner of the over 18’s category.

Michael Piper Daventry Photographic Society The society will be exhibiting some of their photography work, alongside entries for this years photographic competition. Where: Daventry Library, North Street, NN11 4GJ

Michael Piper is a ‘Fine Artist’ from Daventry whose work focusses predominantly on the human form and face. Where: Mercure Court Hotel and Spa, Sedgemoor Way, Daventry NN11 0SG

Alison Drane Alison, a local scenic artist, will be displaying some of her work. Where: Daventry Museum, 3 New Street, Daventry, NN11 4BT

Grid Studios Art Exhibition Based in Rugby, Grid Studios is made up of over 20 artists of all disciplines who will be showcasing their work. Where: Daventry Library, North Street, NN11 4GJ

Saturday 17th June Daventry Weekender The Daventry Weekender is a two-day music extravaganza in five local venues. When: Saturday 17th June & Sunday 18th June from 12-8pm. Where: The Community Stage (Sheaf Street), The Sheaf Street Health Store, Early Doors Micropub, Saracens Head Inn (Wetherspoons) and The Dun Cow. Biff the Dog AKA Buster the John Lewis Dog Biff, a local Daventry dog, who starred as the loveable Buster in the 2016 John Lewis Christmas advert will be in Daventry. Come along and have your photo taken with Biff! When: Saturday 17th June Where: The Community Stage from 10.00-11.00am and Bowen Square from 2.00-3.00pm. It is free to meet Biff, however he will be collecting donations for his chosen charity. Chalk Art by Michael Piper Local artist Michael Piper, will be in Foundry Walk bringing the pavements to life with chalk art. Time: 7.00pm This event is free but please book your place in advance by calling 01327 301246 Poetry Recital Local poet Maggie Evans will be reading some of her poems. Time: 7.30pm Solstice Peace Gathering Celebrating the Summer Solstice with talks, performances, drumming, dances and Celtic music from Amber India Frost. Time: 7.30pm Astronomy For Fun- Stargazing Astronomy for Fun will be hosting stargazing sessions on Borough Hill, for you to see the stars and learn more about the Solar System. Time: From dusk

Wednesday 21st & Thursday 22nd June Daventry Library, North Street, NN11 4GJ. Will be hosting two events: Story Stomp An interactive story and rhyme session for pre-school children to help support your child’s speech, learning and development. When: Wednesday 21st June 10.15-10.45am.

Play and Learn for Under 5’s A session for parents and carers with children under 5. An opportunity for young children to play with a variety of resources, socialise with others and share experiences to support their learning and development. When: Thursday 22nd June 2.00-3.30pm.

Friday 23rd & Saturday 24th June Astronomy for Fun Talks Astronomy for Fun alongside Astrophotography Courses present four talks about astronomy and space exploration. When: Friday 23rd June, 4-6pm. Where: Daventry Museum, 3 New Street, Daventry, NN11 4BT. This is a free event however to book please visit www.daventrytowncouncil.gov.uk/davartsfest-2017 Play and Learn for Under 1’s A session for babies aged under 1 to explore and play and for parents and carers to socialise with others and find out about services on offer in libraries and the wider community. When: Friday 23rd June 2-3pm. Where: Daventry Library, North Street, NN11 4GJ. Messy Church The Daventry Methodist Church will be hosting their Messy Church session. Bell Ringing The Holy Cross bells will be rung by the bell ringers for all to hear. When: Friday 23rd June 8.00pm Bell Ringing and Tower Tour The Holy Cross Church will be opening their tower to the public, to view inside this iconic Daventry landmark. Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th June Daventry Showcase Featuring performances from the Khameleon Kompany & DSLV Year 10 Drama. Alongside this, local artist Wendy Briggs will be displaying art work and hosting workshops including creating designs on a glass raindrop or making a card sundial. First for Wellbeing will also be attending with their community art project; Daventry Family Tree. When: Saturday 24th June, 11.00am-5.00pm Where: Saxon Suite, Daventry Leisure Centre, Lodge Road, Daventry, NN11 4FP.

JuditSingers Workshop A chance to join in, a free singing workshop led by Judit Felszeghy, soprano and leader of The JuditSingers. This workshop will be followed by a short informal performance by the JuditSingers. When: Saturday 24th June, 10.30am-12.00pm Where: United Reformed Rooms, 45 Sheaf Street, NN11 4AA. This is a free event however we would recommend booking in advance by calling 01327 260378. Michael Piper Artist Michael Piper will be demonstrating artistic techniques. Thursday 29th June

Northampton College Art Workshops Northampton College (Daventry Campus) will be delivering a series of workshops at their new Daventry campus. Workshops include: • Printmaking- Relief and Mono • Photography- Photograms produced in the darkroom. • Drawing and painting from still life objects/images • Batik- Wax resist work on paper • Ceramics- Working with clay creating small tiles When: Thursday 29th June, 9.30am-12.30pm. Screen Northants Becky Adams, director of Screen Northants, will be showing some locally created films, talking about opportunities to experience film in Northamptonshire and about her work in the film industry. The talks last approximately an hour and are available at three different time slots: • 2.00-3.00pm • 3.15-4.15pm • 4.30-5.30pm These film workshops are free however please register your interest as we have limited spaces which will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Cycle Through Daventry’s History Get all of the family involved in the Daventry Cycle Through History a new leisurely cycle to learn more about Daventry’s history. Beauty and the Beast Family Film Night BE OUR GUEST! Come along to the FREE family film night showing Disney’s new adaptation of Beauty and the Beast before its major release on DVD and Blu-ray this July. When: Sunday 2nd July, Doors Open at 5.00pm.
