COACHING STAFF HEAD COACH | CHRIS ALLEN

ASSISTANT COACH | KRISTEN EIBLE

Chris is in his fourth season at the helm of the women’s soccer program. Since taking over in 2009, Coach Allen has helped transform the Lady Panthers into a well-respected program that has high aspirations for the future. Davenport has finished third in the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) in each of Allen’s first three seasons and the team has improved on its win total highlighted by a school record 11 victories in 2011. Throughout his career, Chris has coached at high levels specifically with Halifax Town Football Club and Vardar West Soccer Club. While coaching for Vardar West, Chris guided his team to three straight Michigan State Cup Championship games, winning the prestigious honor back to back in 2008 and 2009, granting them two births to the Region 2 National Championship series. Chris also won the Midwest Regional League D1 Championship in 2008. In the summer of 2010 he guided Chicago Fire Juniors - Michigan to the Super Y National Championships in Tampa, FL. Chris spent time in the summer of 2010 learning from Manchester United first team coach Rene Meulensteen, who has coached stars such as Christiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez. Chris currently holds both FA Level 2 and USSF D coaching licenses. Allen is no stranger when it comes to Davenport Athletics as he played a stellar four-year career for the Panthers men’s team in which he helped DU become one of the elite forces in not only the WHAC but also the Region. Chris helped the Panthers to an overall record of 36-26-4 while claiming the 2005 WHAC Tournament Championship and reaching the Regional Championship that same year.  Chris currently resides in Kentwood, Mich while the rest of his family lives in Huddersfield, England.

Kristen is in her first year as an Assistant Coach for the women’s soccer program after completing a standout career as a player at Grand Valley State University. The 2010 graduate with a degree in Secondary Education - Group Social Studies - will directly help with the dayto-day activities, practices and recruiting under head coach Chris Allen. As a student-athlete at GVSU, Eible leaves as one of the all-time greats as she led the Lakers to back to back National Championships in 2009 and 2010. A 4-time All-GLIAC performer, Eible collected various awards throughout her career including the GLIAC Freshman of the Year, the 2010 GLIAC Commissioner’s Award and was honored as an Academic AllAmerican during her senior campaign. In her four seasons in a Laker uniform, Eible helped the team to a 87-7-3. Kristen also serves as the East Grand Rapids Varsity Girls Soccer Coach and coaches for Western Michigan Fire Juniors.

ASSISTANT COACH | TIM BERGSMA Tim is in his first season as the Goalkeeper coach for the women’s soccer program. Bergsma played for four seasons as the University of Michigan where he was the team captain as a senior and helped his team to a Sweet 16 appearance in 2008 and a Big Ten tournament title in 2010. Bergsma has coached at 5-Star Goalkeeping, Elite Keeper Academy and Justin Meram’s J9 Academy. Tim is a 2012 graduate of the University of Michigan. He is currently employed by Neurocore as a Marketing and Peak Performance Technician.
